1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

i currently play the game on an Xbox one but am thinking about moving across to the pc platform. Main reason is all the available extra cars and tracks plus the ability to map more buttons on the wheels etc.

I believe I will have to buy the game through steam?

I have seen companies selling steam keys for the game. Not sure how this works, if I buy the licence key how do I get the game?

I also discovered a site that offers addons such as cars, tracks etc. Can these be used with the official steam game?

    Good choice! (the title)

Yeah, AC is a "Steam"-sim, and you can buy it to youself or as a gift to someone, the later is kindda what some companies does for you: buy a key for the content and send it to you. But, don't do that, the prizing is ridicoulus!
Buy it through Steam, end of story.

Yes, addon cars are probably mod cars you've seen and will work if they're legit. Check in on racedepartment to get in touch with what is good and bad. Some mods are payware, most a free.

Finally, if you're buying a pc, do yourself a favor and buy a strong setup instead of saving a few bucks. A contemporary rig with 7- or 8. gen Intel CPU and a Nvidia GTX1070 and up, you're good to go even if you deside to go VR someday (which is awesome). Less can do, but you won't be able to upgrade much and will end up buying yet another pc if you want something better later.

I already have a good pc that I use for video editing. Intel i7, GTX 980Ti, 32gb ram and various ssd drives so that will be up to the job

How does everything else compare though. Xbox to pc.

  8. so just to be clear.
You download an illegal copy of AC. Then you proceed to buy something without even reading nor understanding what you are buying.. they you come here and keep using this "ripoff" word over and over even thought we already pointed out that you are out of line.

So let's play this game.. one more time I read this word from you and you are out for good.

Evidently you cut corners and purchased an illegal copy of AC. There is no way you can get support for the illegal game copy. However, dusk off and get the right tool...you'll enjoy PC gaming.

I've been play AC on Xbox for the past 3 months and have a full Fanatec Clubsport rig and I have no clue about PCs. If someone could give me suggestions for a good PC setup that will run most racing games like iracing and things along the line like that, that would be great. Thanks

Nothing over $900 but I don't want to get a PC that's totally overkill though.
