1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap #71 - No Combo for Old Man

Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap #71 : No Combo for Old Man

    The Challenge.
    Car:Audi Sport quattro S1 E2
    Track: Laguna Seca

    ambos.jpg
    carro.jpg

If the Alfieri was a gentleman in tuxedo (or a crazy woman, depending on who you ask),the Audi Quattro S1 is for sure one of those bulked guys that hang around on gymn's and sketchy bars. This car has the touch of Ferdinand Piech, the man behind the Porsche 917 for World Sportscar Championship and Can-Am,and together with Audi they brought us the Quattro in 1980,and therefore,it's rallies counterpart. As a portuguese,i have a huge sympathy for this car: the Quattro debuted in my homecountry rally in 1980,and although it was a non-official entry,it leaved it's mark:it would have "won" the event with a 29 minute lead, but due to it being a non official entry, the stage times were not taken into account.
Five years later, the Quattro SI E2 appeared. Some called it a spaceship due to it's wings;but everyone agreed that it was a F1 on dirt. Again, the story of this car connects with my country. The Portuguese rally was hugely popular around here, and was even considered to be the best of the calendar along with Monte Carlo. In 1986,thousands of people created what was called by Walther Rohrl (the Audi driver) a "human forest" alongside the roads, standing just inches away for the cars. The result:4 spectators killed by accidents and drivers refusing to continue with the event.A couple of months (and deaths) later, the Group B ended.A sad ending to one of the most iconic and epic classes in the history of motorsports. Their legacy continues here though. Lets fire up the beast, listen to that sweet, beautifull sound and go beserk with it,just like 30 years ago!
@Daniel Perez sugested on last week's challenge that we could do a stint of 5 laps and use the total time instead of a hotlap. As you can all understand, that would go along perfectly with this challenge, since rallys in real life work pretty much that way.But consoles don't have a "total time" indicator on any game mode, and i think it wouldnt be much practical to have people posting 5 different laps and adding the time.I thought about using the time trial mode, but not only i don't know if PC has this mode,it's also a bit unfair since it takes a huge laptime improvement to do much difference in terms of points,so the results woulde be decided early in the week. So,classic WHL this week, although the ideia was pretty cool!

    pista.jpg
It had to be Laguna Seca,it really had.It allows using some oversteer/understeer on some corners, which is great for rally cars. How about throwing this on the corkscrew?Originally i wanted to do it on Zandvoort, but we used that one two weeks ago.Highlands was also an option but i truly belive that Laguna Seca is perfect for this type of vehicle.Sliding this car on corners will obviously make you loose some time but it's well worth the fun. Also, did i mention "throwing this on the corkscrew"? :) But,if we had the beautifull roads of Sintra, that's were the challenge would take place!
Oh,and by the way, special kuddos for anyone who tries this on "dusty" conditions :D :D

    The Rules.
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Free

If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday March 18th 2018 - 22:00 GMT.

    How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 and head to Laguna Seca. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

Feel free to use the unofficial leaderboard but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

Good luck and have fun ;)

Its easy to do titles with movie names :D "Alfieri,Alfieri!" was a reference to an old italian movie called "Alfredo,Alfredo!".The best one was "The Devil wears Praga",the first WHL i believe

Great background story Hugo. This old man* is never too old to learn ;) This is a great car on a great track. This is also a good stress test for your wheel. And be sure you mounted it very sturdy to your rig (if applicable of course)

    * Indeed great title again. Is 47 old? PS mentally and behavior related 16-18 according to my wife :D

In game via integrated apps. See attached the setup. I only lowered fuel to 5L

Stock vs this setup was about 2,5 seconds. But could also be because of better feeling between car/track after some practicing? Probably the setup ;)

I used the Mao setup and modified the tyre pressures with Sidekick and changed the gear ratios (lowered them).

Fun to drive, wondering if the setup could be stiffer though as the car still dives and rolls.

Well done! Will also play aroundwith the tire pressure.

Hey that is strange. My time on RSR has not been updated...Recently it seems more times do not log for some reason. Will check ifI'm doing something wrong. DOes it make a difference if you launch it via content manager or via the simmotion software? May be that's an explanation??
