1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Welcome to the thread for Weekly Hotlap #27 - VLN Cup 5

    The Challenge.
    Car: BMW M235i Racing
    Track: Nordschleife - Endurance Cup <- Make sure you use the right one :eek:

    The BMW M235i Racing, a car designed to race in the VLN series in its own class, Cup 5. Front engine, rear wheel drive makes for a nicely balanced race car. The slick tyres give it plenty of grip, but if you get greedy, the back of the car will step out. You get some adjustability in the suspension, and a set of medium compound slicks.

    BMW provide a handy little setup guide for the M235i Racing which can be found here. It is for a slightly later generation of the car but well worth the read :)

    We will take in the Endurance Cup layout, which incorporates the GP track sprint circuit and of course the Nordschleife. This is the layout that actually gets raced on so it makes sense to use it with the M235i Racing. Yesterdays VLN race the top qualifier in Cup 5 put in a 9:08.860 lap! Nothing like a real world goal to get things going ;)

    The Rules.
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability:Free
    Penalties: On <--- Only applicable to Practice mode.

    If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

    Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday April 23rd - 22:00 BST (GMT+1) <-- Two Weeks this time out

    How to take part!
    To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap / Practice choose the BMW M235i Racing and head to Nordschleife - Endurance Cup. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

    You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

    To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature.


    Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

    You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

    VLN in the M235i Racing, awesome! Watched the race last weekend and suddenly felt like i have to drive this track again. First in the Audi TT-RS VLN in RaceRoom, then the BMW M235i Racing in Assetto Corsa. Hope i'll find time for several session to get a good time.

    I was watching the first half of yesterdays race whilst I put the post together, as someone decided putting Golf on TV was a good idea...

    A thought o_O, this is a very long lap, the risk of invalidating a lap after 8 minutes is very real, approach this one like a race rather than a hot lap ;)

    Nordschleife is love, Nordschleife is life. We just finished our #30th Sunday Nordschleife event around half an hour ago in another BMW - 1M S3, so I had to do that one opening lap. ;)

    Sadly, many people have memorized this track. And those who have not, like me, just don't drive it that much in open wheel. I have raced on it a few times, but not to the obsession/memorization stage. Looks like another short attempt, but it will be fun, I'm sure.

    First try this week. Fun track, but hard to get one completely clean lap. Missed some apexes, don't know how good the setup is. But we'll see. Maybe i'll upload my future videos on this track in 720p or just the last two minutes. My internet upload is really, REALLY slow ... hate it, but i don't have any options (near the center of an almost 80.000 people city in the middle of germany ... it's just sad!). *edit* I was btw. really scared i might run out of fuel on the Döttinger Höhe. But this is not an Audi, so it was still enough :)

    I've been nervously shaking my leg the whole day but still they dont set up a track side camera to capture it, is it something wrong with my leg or is it because it isn't attached to a Formula 1 team principle?
