Safe bet the engineers actually enjoy making these cars so when one does it it gives the rest an excuse to go to the board for approval to do their own because the other guys are doing it. Hence one triggers it and then you see a bunch of others soon after

 

Maclaren made the 650s GT3 Sprint Track day special a few years ago too, its their gt3 car unrestricted.

 

The engine is unrestricted, but it should be nowhere near as fast as GT3. Less aero, original body (not carbon) and no wide body. I'm sure the suspension is simpler as well.

 

The Nissan isn't an Evo version, it's a completly new car with its own homologation number. It's common that the GT3 manufacturers update their cars over the years but you're right, recently everybody calls it "evo version", probably some marketing thing

 

I thought the original body already was carbon fiber .

 

Not the body, only the monotub, roof maybe too. If it had carbon body, it wouldn't be 400K USD or whatever, it would be at least double, like the other full carbon cars.

Isn't Nissan running this car as a factory entry this year already?

 

They do with some factory-supported customer teams - Gainer in Super GT, KCMG in Blancpain GT Asia and RJN in Blancpain GT.

This is looking more like a test year for the GT-R. It presented some reliability issues, and they didn't even think it was ready for the 24 hours or Nurburgring. That's probably why it's only going for sale next year after they iron out those issues.

 

Pretty much all manufacturers offering customer cars to do that, get some customers involved early (or teams heavily involved with developing the car in the first place), eyes on the car and more data gathered before it's sold.

I agree and if the multiplayer is very complete (ranking system, racer commissioner, safety car, dedicated server... stuff like that) for me it will be enought for a start. And the price could be the same than AC1 (look the price for Iracing and R3E). Maybe after that we can have DLC with new category and theirs tracks (more like an extension maybe).

The most important thing for is the qualty. Content is nothing, is the quality is not here.

 

Did everyone see the picture of the UI in ACC, there's a career mode. Seeing as we have a track and car list of sorts it seems unlikely the career would include the likes of GT4 for example, and it would be somewhat restricted to the tracks we already have. But career implies there's something you have to do first to get into the Blancpain series.

 

Could be, but not necessarly.

Instead of the lame excuses other games call career - basicly just one championship after the other - it could mean that there are additional mechanics/things to deal with, see Codies F1 17/18.

Also the career could offer a stronger presentation than the rest of the singleplayer, voiceacting welcoming and guiding you through it, intros/outros for championships races, actual person you actually have to deal with in real racing (engineer, manager/leader, mechanics etc.).

I hope for all three things, but especially the later. I really don't care much about the outcome in racinggames, like in other games cause characters/people.

I also forgot about the amateur/pro dynamic, you could start out as an amateur and work your way into better teams, where I could see this failing is experienced drivers outgrowing the AI almost immediately meaning you'd have amateurs beating pros early on. I don't know if the cars in Blancpain are all the same or whether pros get slightly better performing cars?

I guess that highlights the difference between good drivers (am) and alien drivers (pro).
