1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

American Tracks?

    Hi

When will there be a DLC with American tracks like Virginia International Raceway?

It seems there are a lot of US racers who would pay for some US tracks.

    Thanks!

A North American track has to my knowledge been hinted at in one of Stefanos Streams. No detailed information though. Please note that my knowledge my be wrong.

Ok. Thanks. AC is wonderful simulator and there is big market for US tracks naturally. It would repay the effort to make American tracks 20x over.

If we are lucky, after analysing all the hints, Laguna Seca could be coming . So cross fingers.

That would be fantastic. The top US tracks I would suggest in future would be.

    1. Laguna Seca
    2. VIR
    3. Watkins Glen
    4. Road America
    5. COTA circuit of the Americas

I would pay $100 for that DLC.

From what Marco said in the stream is that some tracks don't have a licensing department; therefore, he has to work with the tracks marketing personnel, and there's a long delay in communication (if I remember correctly some have taken up to 18 months) or people shift jobs and the request get lost in the shuffle. He didn't specify which tracks in particular suffer from these issues, but I agree we need USA tracks. Maybe you could volunteer your time and "work" for Marco as a USA contractor to secure these

VIR is in development as a mod, I can't remember where I saw the thread but Darren is still working on it.

COTA I'd like, it makes a good F1 addition.

Watkins - a historic version would be nice.

I would be happy to help with this.

I almost feel like if someone gets a good laser model of a track they can license that track to other games. It makes the most sense.

PM me to discuss more. I have some contacts at US tracks.

Forgot to add in my reply above: Road America is available as a legal conversion, check Racedepartment.

Also two historic US tracks: Bridgehampton and Riverside - can be found there.

In a perfect world there would be a central repository for 3d data (both tracks and cars) shared at reasonable prices with people making racing games or mods. Sadly, as Studios compete for exclusive licenses to attract market share this is not going to happen...

I think that is changing. Assets like tracks are becoming commodities. Exclusivity is not a draw as it was and tracks don't offer exclusivity to their assets any way. There are lots of 3D model marketplaces and nothing prevents a company from licensing "their" track or car data. As these things are in demand in every game it eventually ceases to be a differentiator.

What sets AC apart from other sims I play is the tire model. Not the cars or tracks.

@Lordkunos probably could put you in touch with Marco. I'm in there USA and I thought about volunteering this myself since i would be in the same or closer timezone. I'm actually thinking of going to the IMSA race at VIR. Probably would be a good time to ask.

From what I remember reading somewhere there are different developer requirements and the laser scanning hardware changes rapidly. The fidelity of the laser scanning is different for Kunos than for iracing. I'm unfamiliar with the process, but I'm guessing once the laser scanned tracked is completed the track should own a copy (raw data) which they can license.

Yes. They might even fund the acquisition since there is an apparent market. It's revenue for all parties involved and provides another way to promote awareness and brand. Which tracks are always trying to do.

  17. I think it's about time I started taking a closer look at the best quality mod tracks, and this track looks very nice indeed. Locations where I have won league races in the past (GT Legends) hold a particularly special place in my heart ;)

Sorry I can't answer any of that. Darren and Rigel are working on it, and I'm just consulting.

I will say it's really coming along. Hopefully, everyone will be a tester soon enough. :)

    @Christopher Low :
I had a GTL version back in the day. You will barely recognize the track. If it was the one I had, that version was pretty inaccurate. Plenty of fun, but inaccurate.

All I remember was that the front straight was much too short and you entered it shallow and without drama.

I always like some nice elevation. Mid Ohio looks fun to me, but I've never driven it.

Big chance we'll be seeing Laguna Seca in one of the next DLC's or at least soon™
Marco hinted at an American (or at least non-european track) being licensed which was high on one of the polls someone created not too long ago.
