1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Benchmark results, food for thought

Same specs as yours as best I can tell. All settings maxed out and FXAA off. I believe that my machine is fairly CPU limited within AC. That, coupled with a workstation grade motherboard, memory, etc. I have my GTX 1060 very slightly overclocked as well.

I've noticed that the game tends to stutter. A lot. Maybe it's always done it, maybe not. This manifests itself not only in graphical stutters but also in input lag. Dropping post processing, reducing reflections and reflection freq to medium, and smoke to 3 yields almost 2X FPS for my machine. Not only does it graphically appear smoother without stutters, but the control feedback is on another level. My monitor has a refresh rate of 60hz so I wouldn't expect the change to be that drastic since even with max settings, I'm way over 60FPS. Either way, I'll take the slight (very slight IMO) graphical hit to achieve smoother gameplay.

Thanks for testing @slimjim8201 and it is interesting that my average fps are higher but max fps are lower than yours. Anyway i don't have any stuttering or input lag even at max settings because i have a freesync monitor and i don't use vsync. However even if i can stay above my 75hz resfresh rate , i play with these settings:

  6. Without trying to derail this thread, I have read through a lot of this thread trying to get an idea if a GTX1060 would run at 4K smoothly with a 2500k CPU, or if I should get a GTX1070 (more than I want to spend) but still unsure any body here know the Answer?

    You again? Lol :p

Just do it. At this point nobody will be able to exactly tell you the FPS you'll see. Ballpark numbers you should have, by now.

The "worst" that can happen IMO is that you'll have to turn off the post processing and set the reflections to static. PP alone eats 30% of FPS, easily on each GPU I had in my 2500k PC (GTX 770, GTX 970, GTX 1070, R9 Fury Nitro).

I can tell you that on triples I achieved an AVG FPS of ~95 FPS with almost everything maxed out, including reflections on the 1070. When I turned off PP it went up to some 125 FPS average.

I think it should run alright but you'll need to make minor trade-offs quality vs. Performance. Don't quote me on this, though ;-)

Just make sure you get a proper version. I don't know if there's a Gainward Phoenix version or an Asus Gamerock version but something like that - with a solid backplane - is what you should look out for.

    I have a 4790k @4.5 and a non OC 1070.

With everything pretty much maxed out I don't get quite enough performance to consider 4k a better option than 1080p and 8xSGSS. No real numbers, I just feel the odd dip.

If you have some settings you'd like me to try, I will do my best...even underclocking my CPU if you want.

I think he has a 4k screen and wants to run it at 4k.
I also ran the 1070 with SGSS AA, 4x though. It was really great but the crispness and natural absence of jaggies from higher resolution can't be beaten by any AA IMO.

Your post shows again that at the core this is a very good forum with lots of helpful minds :)

Since 1060 is a little better than 970, I can assure you that 1060 is a really bad idea for 4k, you would need to lower so much your graphics options that it would probably look better in 1080p with max settings and AA via Nvidia inspector

  12. McGraw

    McGraw Racer

Sure, I realise that he wants to run at 4k. I just meant that SGSS 8x is better for me than 4K DSR...I don't have a 4K screen.

  13. Great answer LeDude83, made me smile, I realise that without the exact PC components I have it is hard to be sure, but this forum has a wealth of information and enthusiast and I was hoping to get a general consensus of if it is capable of 4k and I think the verdict is that a gtx1060 would just do it but with a good few compromises.. I am going to try and get a deal on a 1070 maybe boxing day and am looking forward to 4k gaming. Thanks for all the opinions and knowledge and sorry for derailing this thread.

I never tried AC with SGSS AA.
Is it better as 4x AA+MFAA?

Yes. 4x AA + 4 or 8 SGSS is gorgeous.

My native resolution is 2560x1440 so my settings are tweaked according to that, but I decided to run the benchmark at 1080p and 2160p as well just out of curiosity. Everything is maxed out except 2x AA.

Take the minimum frame-rate with a grain of salt. There's always a stutter at the beginning when the tyre smoke comes in, but after that it's pretty much perfectly smooth.

    I found your previous result:
The only difference I can see is that you used SHDW:512 instead of SHDW:1024 as you do now. Try to lower that and see if you get the same results. Have you changed something in reflections?

it is ok now :) i try old drivers - noting and i try advce from Luca(AC Support) from some threads about preformance issues "Please start from a clean scenario. Delete any python addon apps you've installed. To do this, delete the "python.ini" file in your "My Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg" path, then delete the "apps" folder located in your "Steam folder\steamapps\common\assettocorsa" folder. Done that, run a Steam cache integrity validation and check if the game runs better."
