1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Hello everyone, does anyone have trouble keeping the 1M's rear in check during high speed sweeper turns?

I have to work hard to not loose it during high speed turns. I decreased the rear tire PSI and it helped a little. Just wondering if I was the only one.

Brake early and maintain throttle when cornering to aid rear stability.

Just an innocent tailhappy car :)

  5. Yes, it certainly has a loose rear end. I try to be very delicate with the brakes and control inputs, because correcting lift off oversteer in cars is not one of my strengths!

Did u by any chance fiddle with the setup other than the rearpressure? Because the very same thing happened to me with the F40. It would slide the rear away at highish speed corners without me giving harsh inputs. Once I reset the setup it was better. Dont think it was the actual setup that caused the drama since I made only few smalp changes. More like the car broke once I changed anything in the setup.
Please give it a shot and report back. If u feel the same it should be reported to Kunos.

  7. I love that car, i think because it has higher torque much sooner than the e92, it feels much more rapid. That in combinatation with the shorter wheelbase makes for a fun and nimble little thing, great fun on Snoopy's and will be one of the first i try on Laser scanned Nords.

Its pretty much the only road car i can beat the manufacurers time on Nords with.

It's not exactly my favourite car in AC tbh. In real life it surely is. I think it's a bit too loose/tailhappy in many situations in default setup. Wheelspin occurs way too much in slower corners way too easily with those 265 rear Michelin PS2 tyres. And it sometimes has too much understeer in slower bends.

In real life this is not really the case, (Understeer what's that? LOL) its base setup is more about over than understeer and off course it's more tailhappy than a 320d or a E90 M3 because of it's swb and more grunt at low and midrange. Pushing it it will drift like no other, but in AC the default 1M already starts drifting when you even look at the throttle:)

In AC it's a nice throwaround little 'fun' car, but you have to tweak the setup to get the most out of it if you want to go for clean hotlapping and stuff. And it's all about practising off course as well:)

    Cheers

  9. Whilst I don't want a complete setup from anyone, one or two suggestions as to how to tame the rear end in this car would be useful.

Well I haven't driven the car for a while and I'm not really bothered by the tailhappiness but I'd suggest a bit more neg camber at the back. And toe @ zero all around (?)

And like I stated, keep on practising.:)

    Cheers

  11. I haven't really done much practice recently in the BMW 1M. In fact, I haven't done much practice at all in AC for a little while. I have generally wanted to race online, but the downside of that is that I end up driving GT3 cars most of the time! Not exactly the best practice to have where road cars are concerned!

Easy fix to make the car less understeery in slow corners and less oversteery in high speed ones,

Max negative front and rear camber.
Now look at the car status in the setup screen and make sure u use -15 front TOE and +10 rear TOE.

Use 31 pressure for all 4 tires.

what Hany said, but I would personally use around 26 pressure

Isn't that too low and makes u lose a lot of top speed? On tracks with long straigths 26 make u lose time in the straight and only give a bit more grip in the corners. Same goes for the bmw e30, 31 is a lot faster than 28 or 26.

  16. It probably varies from person to person, based on skill level and driving style.

    31. When I raise the tyre pressures so high then the tyres don't warm and I feel I'm slower in the corners.

It depends on the track. I feel I gain more than I lose at Monza, Vallelunga with the sweeping bends I prefer higher tyre temps. Maybe it's my driving, not working the tyres hard enough, but I alway seem to be struggling to get decent tyre warming.

Finding this to be a really interesting thread.

Just wondering why its necessary to max out negative camber to make the car behave more like its RL counterpart or have I jumped to an incorrect assumption?

Perhaps I've misunderstod. Unfortunately I've not had the chance to drive the 1M irl but I have been able to compare testing in the elise and its brought me to the assumption that the tire/road model slips more than in rl but that the slip is also more progressive. I experience more understeer than rl but also the cliff edge on oversteer is not as pronounced.

It sounds quite similar to what the op is experiencing.

Yes that true, I have no problem getting my tires up to temperature with 31. It matters how hard u can push the car to its limit. Aris is slow soo it makes sense that he uses 26 :p :p

The dev's have said that for the road cars the setups are factory defaults. There are lots of variables that would make a car handle differently in rl than in the sim. Tyres for a kickoff.

[/QUOTE]Factory settings (default Setup) !=race setup? You want find many street cars with unhealthy tyre adjustments like 3% Chambers irl.
