1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Drift cars setup

Discussion in 'Chit Chat Room' started by Leonardo Ratafia, Dec 19, 2016.

  1. Hi, it seems long time ago now that the first 3 drift version cars came out, being the BMW M3 E30, the BMW M3 E92 and the Z4, those have a drift car version (for those who don't know yet :p) and there's no problem at all for beginners to start out drifting right out of the box (that would mean with the default setup)

Though I was reading and trying to improve my drifting skills, driving in tandems, leading, following, being smooth on the transtitions and also reading what guys do IRL with their cars.

I've found this guide they both seem to be the same, since they're written by the same guy though one seems to be longer in explanation or sth.

    http://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/chassis-suspension/modp-1201-basic-drift-chassis-setup/

Wouldn't it be nice if the drifting cars where more open in the setup, like the ones in the Japaneses Pack?
Isn't that possible because of licensing agreements?
Drifting in Assetto Corsa has become a practice tool for some people, even Luca improved his skills and now is part of a drifting school, I bet we all would like to have some cars setups the way he drives them IRL, @AC Support

ok before this ends into a TLTR post I say goodbye and happy drifting!

I also got a question, maybe you or someone else can answer it. :)
Isnt it better to start out with a no-drift version? The drift versions are so easy and doesnt feel anything like their "real cars" to me, so will it help me learn to drift goodie wit hthe other cars aswell?

  4. you can use toyota GT86 with eco tires, Ford Mustang, for starter but when you need to do transitions between corners and keep the drift it's easier to use the Drift version cars.
drifting it's not just power oversteering. Also the Ford Escort 1600, there's so many cars now that sometimes you forgot some of the cool cars :D

Stock cars are not so great in holding angles in long corners or transitions, drift setups help with that a lot. If you drift around for 15 minutes in any drift car before going for a spirited trackday with any street car you will find yourself sliding around like tires are made of wood and loving it

  6. In my opinion, yes it is better to start with a non-drift version.

The drift cars are very low grip; slippery. Well yea, there supposed to be right? Max drift! But it can be hard to learn on them when you are just starting out.

You can take a normal car, and make setup changes to get it more slippery. So it isn't a hugely different feeling, and then as you get better and better, you can make it more and more slippery. Then when you are ready, you can hop in a drift car.

  7. I also would like to know if there are some real drifters if they would share their real car setup, even if it's a street car tuned for drifting.
    thanks
