How come you only post here when you have to advertise a new video of yours?

 

Haha, mostly i just sneak around and try to learn stuff to be honest. But since i see a lot of hardware questions passing by i post my videos now and then since for some people it can be interesting.

 

A pretty girl talking about sim racing and new hardware is a beautiful thing...... I think!!

Thank you for going the extra mile and getting interviews with cool guys like Wolfgang. It must have been an exciting experience.

The wheel from Fanatec that I'm interested in is their new Direct Drive wheel. Any news and will you be getting one to demonstrate?

PS Cool record collection!! Any Led Zeppelin?

 

Stumbled over that video at youtube yesterday already.

I have that wheel and base myself since some time. Its excellent. I really wonder how DD wheelbases could be any better, faster, smoother.

Simracinggirl, if you ever use one of the heavier rims by Fanatec on this wheelbase, please consider to leave a short sitrep on your experience and impression. The PS4 wheelrim is the lightest of all Fanatec products, significantly lighter. I wonder how for exmaple the Porsche or BMW wheelrims would do on this base. They have more mass and weight.

 

I hope the next Fanaleds release adds functionality to the wheel that currently is missing in many games. Their last release already should have added it, but they admitted that something went wrong, obviously.

And yes Wolfgang is a very nice guy and i was happy that he shared some of his insights with us, although i should have asked him which cars he liked most in AC, but there was so much noise so i lost focus
And yes, keep an eye on my pages since i will be attending the simracing expo so i will show the Fanatec DD base next week!
And again yes Led Zeppelin in my collection!

Yeah it's really good indeed especially with the new firmware and i also wondered about DD but i had the chance to try out several brands of DD bases and i must say it is better and not comparable to what we belt drive wheel users are experiencing at the moment Feels completely different imho.
And i did try the CSL with my heaviest wheel which is the Porsche rim and i must say it performs well and i do not have to set the ffb strength to the max setting so that's good.
But I personally do prefer the 30cm diameter wheels more and since i received both the new rims i tend to use them for most of the time

You did a very good job on the interview. Better than I would have done I'm sure. I can only imagine the excitement level of doing something like that but I'm sure you're more confident then I am.

On the subject of wishing to have asked more......... Not sure if you are familiar with the original 1966 Batmobile builder..... 'George Barris', which I had the pleasure of meating once. He was this frail old man that asked me not to squeeze his hand too hard as I walked up to him. So as I'm shacking his hand carefully and thinking of all the cool things I could ask him about..... John Wayne, Marlin Monroe or the Batmobile...... I froze...... Then I gave him, I'm sure, my best unintelligent look and said.

"So....... what made you get into cars?"

George had replied with an answer the question deserved ".......I like cars!"

Then I walked away.
Not one of my proudest moments.
