Framerate

Is anyone still having framerate issues in the game? Was driving a gtr around the nordschliefe and there were loads of drops. Been getting it on other circuits to like monza and silverstone.

 

Yes, many especially online. Barcelona, Nordschleife are the worst but as you say it also happens at other tracks. I've also noticed more in the new special events for PP2/3, Mugello is hopping and skipping along even late into races.

 

Frame rate is not acceptable at the moment. I don't think it ever reaches 40fps, it's like an old flicker book.

 

I think it depends on internez connectio n. I play nearly every day with 4 or 5 buds and the one with fiberglass connection have much less drops. Only when people joining the lobby. Framerate is very good in my eyes even Nordschleife had massive improved since January update.

 

As far as singleplayer is concerned AC runs great for my taste - not locked 60, but rather never below 40. Only noticeable framedrops are when you hit dirt, becuase of additional particles being rendered.

If the turn one cl*sterf*ck doesn't kill you, the frame drop certainly will.

I'm on virgin 200 meg fibre, I get 170 meg on Xbox network test with low ping. There's a big difference between internet frame drops and game frame drops. Take offline mode, special events full race grids, gt3 class cars, worst 2 are Barcelona and brands hatch, the game frame rate slows,fast stutter on every corner under braking, it must be down to 30fps or below. Even down the straights the games not running at 60fps, just look at graphics at sides of tracks tree,grandstands etc there not moving at a smooth rate there stuttering towards you. When online full grid it's even worse, yes because you have broadband/ping speeds added to the mix, when someone joins qualifing or joins party chat there's a huge stutter, I think this is down more to the Xbox using more background resources.
I think eurogamer or another game site have carried out fps tests on it, and the results are shocking, for a game that states it's 60 fps. The link is on another thread on this forum somewhere.
I find if you go on forza or pCars or both, do a race then go on assetto you instantly release quite how bad it is, yes assetto is not unplayable and your eyes do adjust to it after a few laps but it's not up to the standard you would expect of a 2017 game.
I also think that if they actually spent more time trying to optimise the game better for consoles instead of churning out paid dlc the frame rate wouldn't be an issue 7 months after release.

 

Gentlemen, since my ascension to the PC, all I can tell you is that it will be worth it upgrading to the Scorpio. I wanted to cry every time I tried to hit up the Nordschleife online. Now I can play at 120 fps without a single framedrop.

Expect at the very least being able to play at 1080p locked to a rock solid 16.6ms frame time (perfect 60fps vsync) day one when you drop that Assetto Corsa disc into your Scorpio tray!

All I can offer at this point is alms for the poor. So, here you guys go!
