1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Gama settings for night, exposure at night.

I hope you won't abuse them guys, I will certainly not touch them. And I hope for new moon :)

I wonder how it will work, would lights around the track become too blinding bright if some guys would cheat with gama settings ? Or would it somehow work with exposure implementation ?

I remember early AC had some nice exposure effects.

Will you be able to see stars with all that "light pollution" ?

I dont think there is much that can be done about this, its a fairly common cheat and most likely people can mod or disable rain spray plus make night into day with just a brightness adjustment. One thing that I think should be addressed is people purposefully turning headlights off at night which I noticed in PC2 people would do to hide in the dark. I would still keep settings maxed as long as my setup can handle it and have lighting and brightness at realistic levels but would at least hope those that cheat as they must in PC2 to drive with headlights off would be penalised for running too long with lights off at night or turning them off too often.

Can't some modifications like disabling rain spray be seen as modifying game files => Steam VAC ban? A guy I know got it for modifying some simple textures in CS:GO. Even ReShades can be blocked, like PUBG and Squad is now doing (because people use it to cheat basically, to improve enemy visibility etc). I guess it depends on anticheat used, but for truly competitive MP experience I guess there should be anticheat. At least all online FPS games have cheaters, in many cases massive amounts of them. PUBG is fighting with the problem, R6 Siege was earlier and Battlefield 4 is riddled with cheaters these days, for example.

Upping brightness on the monitor is impossible to prevent (duh), people have always used it to see better in FPS with night maps etc.

But I'm glad the fiddling with PP effects and custom weather files will be over. Recently got tired of it, no matter what PP or files I used, some tracks/time of day always looks wrong (with gbW too, while it was the best). Glad that there will be official good looking graphics and PP. Tbh one good side of no modding is so I don't have the temptation to start the endless PP/weather fiddling (that I'm never 100% happy about anyway, constantly changing something) again :D

Regarding spray, I suppose it will be demanding for hardware, so it probably depend on graphical setting, just guessing. Might be easier without it, though should be little difference as soon as the track will be learned really well.

I wonder if rain will be much harder in night, or same difficulty as in daytime. Settings abuse may make it easier to some guys, but they will loose dope experience so... I wonder what will be the darkest spots in racetracks of ACC at night, maybe it will never be completely black.

Well, of course spray probably can be lowered from just graphic setting. But hopefully it can be so that it doesn't disappear, but draws less/low quality clouds so it still blocks visibility but just looks crappier. Otherwise the "competitive" people will disable it

Wouldn't a solution to turning headlights off be to only allow to turn headlights off and not the other lighting on the car such as those green led light strips etc?

I believe its so the pit crew and team can identify and differentiate between their cars, mostly for night time running.
