Generic Improvement I suggest

Hi all

First have to say that I geniuinly enjoy Assetto but there some things that the game need and soon if they whant to keep up with the other sims out there

1st: Rolling start (after 3 years its time to do it almost every sim have this option)
2nd: Timed race option ... (same thing here all the big sims have this option)
3rd: Pilote swap for Enduro race
4th: Tracks, did I mantioned Tracks ...please Tracks !!
5th: New cars categories DTM, WTCC, LMP2, Australian super cars, Old Can-Am etc please Cunos surprise us

Optional: Night and day (it would be freakin awsome)
Optional (maybe for 2019 ) Rain

 

Yet again this isnt actually a list things the game needs to stay up to date with "other sims" this is just a list of what some user wants the game to have..

1: No rolling starts are not needed, personally i find that an annoying way to start, unless im playing Daytona USA in the arcades.. if it was implemented in AC i certainly would never use it..

2: if what you mean by timed races is.. "you have 45 minutes to drive as many laps as you can, whoever gets the most laps wins" its not NEEDED but it might be handy to SOME people. But just because everyone else is doing it doesnt mean we have to, to stay the best (and asssetto IS the best racing sim on the market, not for its looks but for its driving physics accuracy, which is basically the most important thing in a driving game)

3: How on earth does seeing one computer graphic man get out of a car and a slightly different one get back in the car make ANY difference to the race or how it plays?? its not like a driver gets tired after a few hours its a game character, so why does he need to swap, other than for a visual niceness.. Thats just making things look fancy, AC isnt really about making things look fancy they are more interested in how the cars behave on track. If you want PILOT (no e in pilot) swap, pull into the pits and get a family member to take your place behind the wheel.. Other than doing that, pilot swap is a pointless visual showboating some games like to do..

4: We have tracks, LOADS of tracks, just a few days ago we got the laser scanned version of Laguna seca. (not sure if consoles have got that yet though) the AC tracks are the most accurate versions of the tracks ANY race game has ever seen, they are all laser scanned down to millimeters of accuracy. If Kunos (yes its spelt with a K not a C) was to start knocking out loads of tracks, then the accuracy level would go down, it would have to, to save time. Then of course people would start complaining that the quality of tracks has gone down. So kunos would rather put out say 10 amazing tracks than 20 mediocre tracks, that everyone would complain about. Basically we are talking Quality over Quantity..

5: Yes new cars are always welcome, but remember it costs thousands of dollars just to get the license for 1 car, let alone a whole group of cars. Esp mixed brands, its cheaper to get 3 ferrari than it is to get 1 ferrari 1 lambo and 1 porsche

No matter how" Freaking awesome" it might be Day /night will NOT happen in AC , its IMPOSSIBLE... The way the game engine was made does not allow for it, its the same reason head lights don't really do anything, they light up a bit, but they dont actually illuminate the road. The game engine doesnt allow for it, its just not made that way.
The only way it will happen is if they rewrite the game engine to work differently with light sources.. And they wouldn't ever do something like rewriting the main engine for a game AFTER the game has come out..
You might get multi light sources in AC2 or whatever Kunos makes after AC, but it will NEVER happen in AC

 

Improvements I am waiting for :

- FOV for cockpit view (the one without steering wheel/driver hands)
- Keyboard support (with assignable FOV)
- UDP support

Please add those to the console version.
