1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

are you sure its not just the camera/car view jumping you to another car?

Yeah cause I wait and let the AI drive out from under me before I try to move.

Had that happen online a few times. If you can reproduce it it would be useful to report it so they can fix it.

@Schnipp in the CM thread suggested moving the slider for grid position back and forth a couple times to 'reset' it. Seemed to fix it in the one race I just did.

Experienced something different. Made a preset quick race of GT cars. Today, after clicking on Go, the race started immediately w/o even starting from/opening the pit window... weird.

Apologies if this has been answered in this thread already, but what is the preferred solution for the dull brake lights with post processing off?

Don't want to turn PP on as I'll need to reduce the PPD. Unless there is a 'low overhead' filter ?

    Thank you.
    Did some testing with the recommended PP effect (VR_Brakelights_v03) - with 23 AI @ Mugello and Red Bull GP;
The only way I could get it to run mostly at 90FPS was to reduce PPD down to 1.5, AF=4, AA=2, World detail = very high. The effects settings were as recommended by the author (overall = very low, glare quality = low, rest off). For comparison, without PP I could run 2.0 PPD, max world detail, 8 AF and 4 AA and maintain 90FPS. Increasing PPD to 1.6 runs consistently at 45FPS despite reducing display settings further - so its quite large price to pay for brake lights :)

I tried to compare the default and natural filters with the above - it seems that switching to default / natural causes the FPS to drop to 45 at start, but climbs to 90 within a minute once the pack spreads out - so while the above PP effect does make a difference, it doesn't seem to be a very large performance improvement in comparison to default / natural filter on my machine.

Since I like to get online fairly regularly, I am going to have to live with a PPD of 1.5 (brake lights are less critical with AI as they are more predictable :).

    PS: System specs - i5-7600k, GTX1070, 16GB DDR4, stock clocks, CV1.

I gave HTC Vive a try at a local Microsoft store yesterday, and although I only did some casual games, I really enjoyed the Vive having slightly larger FOV, and it having no "god ray" artifacts. The tracking system also seemed to be much better than the Rift. I would say if the Vive is as expensive as the $400 Rift bundle, I probably will choose the Vive over the Rift. Anyways I really appreciate Rift's price drop which actually brought me into the world of VR.

Do you guys also have lots of "god rays" in the Rift? For some reason I find my Rift is full of "god rays" and it is annoying sometimes.

Personally I noticed god rays rarely (only on light on dark screens) and doesn't bother me much. What I'd like to improve on are the shimmering shadows/lines on track, as I can't seem to make them disappear even w/ Shadows=High, 16xAF/4x or 8xAA, PPD=1.4 in CM....anyone (higher PPD drops frames already)? Sometimes I also get bothered by the clarity (or lack of) and remember how much nicer 1080p is, but I just try to forget it and enjoy the races. :)

You can turn god rays off in AC graphics settings (PP-effects).

    Just kidding! :D;)
In my Rift I only have annoying godrays when bright colours are shown in front of very dark (black) background, and of course when my lenses are not clean or I don't use the "sweet spot"...

About the sweet spot, how does it compare with the DK2? In the DK2 the sweet spot where it is clear is very small.

  14. Pretty much the same, but once you put it on and off enough times and set the straps up there's no issue.

Thank you, not an issue once you have the goggle positioned right, I was just wondering.
I think that some time when we read that some one tried it in a store or at a friend and found it extremely unclear, it is mostly because the goggles were not positioned correctly.

Any of you using some defoggers or tips on lessening, or perhaps preventing fog building up on the lenses? Quite humid and build up is easy on long sessions.

Is your rig placed in a cool room, like the basement?
I only experience foggy lenses, due the condensing happing between my warm head and the cold rift. Once it is up in working temperature and I've wiped the lenses 2-3 times, all good.
So, to prevent this you may want to store your HMD in a less cold place.

Edit: You could spit in it, like divers...though I'm not doing that on mine :p

I tried for example a short music video app called "Fantasynth" and there were so much god rays in it. I just wanna know if other people also see them.

The lens refraction ("God Rays") is a byproduct of the Fresnel lens design used in the CV1. Here's a mod you can try to reduce the effect.

The issue is most noticeable when viewing light lettering on very dark backgrounds and it affects all CV1's although, opinions about how problematic they actually are vary greatly. Some people don't even notice them while others are driven to the brink of insanity. I actually think of them of a visual enhancement of sorts :p but, they are really not a problem in daylight racing conditions.

I was getting really bad fogging - but only in the left lens - weird. Anyway after doing a bit of research I found a simple solution. I fold up a microfibre cloth and place it on my nose held into place by the rift. It hangs down over my nostrils and directs the air from my breathing downwards away from the rift. Don't ask my how the exhalation from my nose was going up into the rift to begin with as my nostrils are in the normal position under my nose and not above it, but there you have it. It works a treat. No more fog.
