1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

MAXIMUM_FRAME_LATENCY does it still work

  5. AC is not triple buffered on PC right now, unless the driver is overriding the behavior.

    Similar things can be said about MAXIMUM_FRAME_LATENCY setting, the value is passed to the driver, what a particular driver on a particular architecture is doing with that information is anybody's guess.

    Michael, don't be silly. 1 is also a prime number, in case you forgot.

    0= whatever the driver is set to
    N= N amount of frame latency (pre rendered frames) (Unless the driver overrides the setting)

    So, long story short, set it to the minimum amount in drivers, and leave it at 1 in the .ini, just to be sure! :)

    Maximum pre-rendered frames in Nvidia controll panel - use 3d application setting, 1, 2, 3 or 4? I guess its not 4, 3 or 2 but 3d application or 1? :)

    Yes, 3d application will use whatever you set in the .ini, any number will override what youy set in the .ini. Set 1 in driver and i in .ini and you're double safe.

    Pre rendering should be burned! BURNED, I say!

    Looks like that I have to do another test with my (not really) high speed camera (100fps).
    So driver at default , vsync on and 0,1,2.

    A prime number is only divisible by itself and one. 1/1=1. Look it up. :)

    Why don't you? 1 is excluded explicitly from being a prime number …

    There are very good reasons for doing that, one of them (not necessarily the most important one) being that prime number factorization wouldn't be exact (disregarding permutations).

    Guys I did a test using my phone , on slow recording. It records at 100fps, not much. but it's something.
    The test, was always at vsync=on, uncapped, 1080p, 60fps.
    Nvidia driver at default.

    I tested MAXIMUM_FRAME_LATENCY =0 , 1, 2

    Here is the video




    I counted the frames for the virtual hand to appear moving.

    Results
    MAXIMUM_FRAME_LATENCY=0 (38frames)
    MAXIMUM_FRAME_LATENCY=1 ( 27 frames)
    MAXIMUM_FRAME_LATENCY=2 ( 34 frames)

    So it seems that MAXIMUM_FRAME_LATENCY=1, does indeed helps with nsync=on
