1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Set-up differences for same spec S1 and S2 cars (Elise, M3, Z4 etc)

In another thread, @Snowman38 asked about the differences of the seemingly identical Lotus Elise variations, to which @andy-riches answered with a nice screenshot of a chart displaying the in-game info for those cars, available on the PC version.

He also kindly suggested a thread could be started with the aim to condense on the same spot other cases similar to the one mentioned above, so we could have a place to ask our PC brothers what the subtle set-up differences for apparently identical cars are.

As to myself, I'm very curious to know more about the following variations:

    - BMW M3 E92, vs BMW M3 E92 S1, vs BMW M3 E92 /Drift/
    - BMW Z4 E89, vs BMW Z4 E89 S1
    - Lamborghini Countach, vs Lamborghini Countach S1

If anyone wants to extend the list, I'm sure our PC friends will be willing to feed us with that info while such nice feature isn't implemented on the console version.

Note that this thread aims at being only a workaround for this specific circumstance, since @Donnced has an ongoing thread to request the implementation of more specs info on console, in a broader sense.

    Thanks a lot!

    ABARTH
    500 EsseEsse S1: 175 bhp, 245 Nm, 1025 kg
"The Step1 tuned version of Abarth 500 EsseEsse has non adjustable aftermarket dampers and lowered springs and an ECU reprogramming which gives a little more boost on the turbos, gaining a fair amount of power and torque.Turning the modern Fiat 500 into an Abarth meant lowering the ride, adding a turbocharger to the 1.4-litre engine (no mean feat under that tiny bonnet), giving it Torque Transfer Control for more aggressive cornering and improving the aerodynamics with side-skirts and spoilers."

    595 SS: 32 hp, 44 Nm, 470 kg
"Carlo Abarth began his well-known association with Fiat in 1952, building the Abarth 1500 Biposto upon Fiat mechanicals. Fiat "Nuova 500" was introduced in 1957 and Abarth soon realized some versions with elaborate mechanics. In 1963 he was presented the "595", produced until the end of 1971 in two series. The Abarth receives from FIAT incomplete cars and then mounts on them the special pieces. In February 1964 the 595 SS was presented, featuring a top speed of 130 km/h."

595 SS S1: Same specs/description as standard. Features Abarth Scorpion decal on the hood.

    595 SS S2: 65 hp, 80 Nm, 470 kg

    AUDI
    Sport Quattro: 306 bhp, 350nm, 1298 kg
"With its wheelbase shortened by a meaningful 12.6 inches between the B and C pillars, the Audi Sport Quattro was not only significantly shorter than the standard Quattro found in showrooms, but its steel monocoque shell also featured numerous GRP and carbon-kevlar panels to further trim weight. As such, there was very little shared with serial production Audis. By the end of the production in 1984, Audi had produced 224 examples of what remains as one of the great homologation specials of the 1980s."

    Sport Quattro S1: 373 bhp, 425nm, 1298 kg

    BMW
    1M S3: 400 bhp, 580 Nm, 1495 kg
"The Stage 3 tuned version of BMW 1M series has adjustable aftermarket dampers with coilover springs, camber plates to adjust for massive range of camber at the front, and rear toe links for equally big range of camber adjustment at the rear. The engine is tuned with a new ECU that raises the turbo boost at over 1bar with an overboost function of over 1.3 bar, adjustable from the cockpit. Beware though, the engine can't handle that kind of pressure for too much time."

    M3 E30 S1: 238 bhp, 240 Nm, 1200 kg
"The Step1 tuned version of E30 series has non adjustable aftermarket dampers and lowered springs. There are some compromises as the rear subframe chassis spring sockets, can't handle very stiff springs, so the front is more stiff than the rear

    M3 E30 Drift: 343bhp, 365 Nm, 1150 kg
"The Drift tuned version of E30 series is based on a stripped M3 E30 with an engine and grearbox swap from an E46 M3. The engine is capable of more than 340bhp but adds weight at the front. A completely locked rear diff, high duty coilover springs, bigger antiroll bars and lot's of lock, make this one of the most desired drift tuned cars. Be careful though, the old rear suspension and the short wheelbase make the car quite nervous."

    Z4 E89 S1: 330 bhp, 500 Nm, 1605 kg
"The Step1 tuned version of Z4 E89 35is series has non adjustable aftermarket dampers and lowered springs. There are some compromises as the rear subframe chassis spring sockets, can't handle very stiff springs, so the front is more stiff than the rear. The open body limits the stiffness of the springs."

    Z4 E89 Drift: 390bhp, 580 Nm, 1525 kg
"The Drift tuned version of Z4 E89 35is series has adjustable aftermarket dampers with coilover springs, camber plates to adjust for massive range of camber at the front, and rear toe links for equally big range of camber adjustment at the rear. The front steering rods are also modify to permits very wide angles for steering up to 55 degrees. The engine is tuned with a new ECU that raises the turbo boost at over 1bar and a locked rear differential is installed to help those rear tyres spinning together. A slight weight reduction has also been achieved."

    M3 E92 S1: 414 bhp, 400 Nm, 1605 kg
"The Step1 tuned version of M3 E92 series has non adjustable aftermarket dampers and lowered springs. There are some compromises as the rear subframe chassis spring sockets, can't handle very stiff springs, so the front is more stiff than the rear."

    M3 E92 Drift: 414 bhp, 400 Nm, 1605 kg
"The Drift tuned version of M3 E92 series has adjustable aftermarket dampers with coilover springs, camber plates to adjust for massive range of camber at the front, and rear toe links for equally big range of camber adjustment at the rear. The front steering rods are also modify to permits very wide angles for steering up to 55 degrees."

    FERRARI
    458 S3: 570 bhp, 540 Nm, 1140 kg
"The Ferrari 458 Stage 3, has extensive modifications to the suspension springs and dampers, similar to those seen on the 458 challenge trofeo car. It sits much lowered to the ground, taking full advantage of the underbody aerodynamics. It is also much lighter than the road car weighting under 1200kg. This brings to the surface the amazing engine and handling, while overall grip is well supported by slick tyres."

    F40 S3: 610+ bhp, 750 Nm, 1175 kg
"The Stage 3 version of the Ferrari F40, comes with the factory option of modified turbos and boost, to raise the already impressive factory power to an outrageous value of over 600bhp. The car also comes equipped with heavy duty track oriented suspension and slick tyres, making this version just a step lower than the all mighty LM racing version. Incredibly, even though the original car has more than enough power, this engine modification is found on quite a big number of the F40's in the market."

    LAMBORGHINI

    Countach S1: 442 bhp, 500 Nm, 1490 kg
Same specs and description as standard model. Rear wing removed.

    LOTUS
    Exige 240R S3: 270bhp, 270 Nm, 900 kg
"The stage 3 version of the Lotus Exige 240R, has an upgraded engine with up to 270bhp, much stiffer and lowered suspension with uprated dampers and a locked read differential 25% power and coast. With its featherweight chassis, this car can really put to shame much more powerful supercars on a tight track."

    Evora S S2: 400bhp, 420 Nm, 1385 kg
"The Stage 2 tuned version of Evora S series has non adjustable aftermarket dampers and lowered stiffer springs as well as wider track front and rear. The engine also has a new ECU and a different pulley on the compressor, raising the maximum power at almost 400bhp. Adjustments on the alignment and other small details, transform the Lotus sportscar in a very enjoyable trackday weapon."

    Exos 125 S1: 750hp, torque N/A, 660kg
    "Simplify and add lightness
...and some power. The Stage 1 version of the Lotus Exos 125, brings the true F1 cosworth power unit from 2009. It outputs around 750bhp at a staggering 18000rpm!
...and some downforce. Optimisations in the rear wing and diffuser, improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the car. You can use a bit less rear wing now, achieving the same downforce with less drag, improving the car's performance.
...and some tyres. You've got 4 slick compounds to choose from, each with very particular characteristics. Normally in F1 races the organisation chooses which compounds are available to the teams, but here you can choose any of them.
The development programme has harnessed input from an experienced group including past masters such as Nigel Mansell & Jean Alesi. Their inputs ensure the car delivers outstanding levels of speed and performance which is complimented by a consistency of driveability that is sympathetic to all driving styles. The Lotus 125 embodies all the performance attributes of a modern f1 car, but without the need for F1 levelsof personal support and associated running costs. The Lotus 125 offers the thrill of f1 ownership at a fraction of the cost - but with no compromises."

    Elise SC S1: 217bhp, 242 Nm, 929 kg
"The Step1 tuned version of Lotus Elise SC has adjustable Lotus track option coilover dampers and springs as seen on the more extreme Lotus Exige R and Cup"

    Elise SC S2: 217bhp, 242 Nm, 929 kg
"The Step2 tuned version of Lotus Elise SC has adjustable Lotus track option coilover dampers and springs. This car also has the additional limited slip differential with 25% lock on power and coast. Lotus doesn't advice the use of an LSD because it brings turn in understeer. "

Evora GTE Carbon: 420bhp, 461 Nm, 1285 Kg
"The Lotus Evora GTE Carbon Concept is a unique modification of the already rare Evora GTE. Every single body panel and interior is made from carbonfibre, thus reducing the weight of the original Evora GTE by more than 100kg . This high-strung Evora elicits over 420 bhp from its race-developed engine, fed through a sequential AMT racing gearbox and put to the pavement through ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels with center-lock hubs shod with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires."

Evora GX: 440 bhp, 460 Nm, 1395 kg
"The GX and GTC Evoras are an advanced version of the Evora GT4 Enduro car. With wider wheels and stunning moulded wheel arches to cover them, the GX and GTC cars offer even greater levels of grip, both when cornering or accelerating, to the already outstanding performance of the Enduro car. The GX version is powered by slightly less powerful but more torquey engine. Has a bit better aerodynamics but no ABS or Traction Control. It is equipped with some compounds of the GT2 type of tyres and 120 liters of fuel tank."

    MAZDA
    RX-7 Spirit R: 276 bhp, 314 Nm, 1270 kg

    RX-7 Spirit R Tuned: 444 bhp, 398 Nm, 1312 kg
"Because of its nature, the rotary engine is able to run at higher speeds without suffering the detrimental forces of a common engine. This means the owner is not forced to focus on extensive modifications to preserve engine's lifetime. The main steps are remapping the engine, replacing the original turbo system with a bigger unit, improving the air filter to have a higher flow (very important for rotary engines), exhaust pipe and, of course, installing a big rear wing because the rear is really light at high speeds."

    TOYOTA
    AE86: 122 bhp, 142 Nm, 925 kg

    AE86 Tuned
    : 200 bhp, 206 Nm, 900 kg
"The AE86 generation of the Toyota Sprinter Trueno is a small, lightweight coupe or hatchback introduced by Toyota in 1983. In classic Toyota code, the 'A' represents the engine that came in the car (4A series), 'E' represents the Corolla, '8' represents the fifth generation (E80 series) and '6' represents the variation within this generation. Even after production of the car was discontinued in 1987, many privateer teams still raced the AE86, and it is still a popular choice for rallying and club races today. Part of the continued appeal of the AE86 for motorsports is its rear-drive configuration, a feature not available in most newer lightweight coupes."

    AE86 Drift: 185bhp, 206 Nm, 920 kg
"The overall balance of AE86 and its rear wheel drive configuration made it really popular between street racers and drifters. This is true all around the world, above all in nations where rallying is considered one of the most popular forms of motorsport."

    Supra Mk.IV Time Attack: 690bhp, 756 Nm, 1505 kg
"Toyota Supra was one of the finest Japanese supercar: through tuning it easily reaches 600hp and can go over 1000hp. It's revered as one of the most highly tuneable cars on the planet. The time attack version has much better aerodynamics and plenty of setup options. A much bigger single turbine and tuned engine for higher power make this a very capable car, if you can handle the turbo lag."

    Supra Mk.IV Drift: 624bhp, 756 Nm, 1505 kg
"The drift version has a smaller turbine that sacrifices a bit of high end power for a better turbo response with more torque in the mid range revs. Extra modifications on the suspension geometry for more steering lock and setup options are available."

Not that I know of. But maybe it's better to keep on posting it here, so more people who may also be interested in the info can have a quick look at it and maybe even elaborate on the request.

I've downloaded the screenshots you've posted in jpeg and will cram everything I collect into a ppt file, so I can convert it into a pdf when everything is done. Then it's gonna be like a practical guide I'll be allowed to visualize even on an Ipad.

Thanks a lot for your effort. This readiness to help is something quite admirable!

What a great stuff you've got there! Thanks for sharing it. If you can post what's still missing when the work is complete, that will be really nice!

Edit: I've taken a second look at the list and it seems pretty complete to me. At least it looks like everything I was after is there. Is there anything still missing there that I cannot recollect?

In each car you have a folder called "ui" there's a file "ui_car.json". You can open it with a notepad and just copy the description.

I started making a spreadsheet for all cars released on PC, but that's a lot of C&P to be done. Did around 20 descriptions and there are still over 200 files to go.
Since most people don't read them anyway and if anything they are interested in differences between standard and S or D versions, I don't know if I'll finish it.
