1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

^ Its like that again since the last change to the AI, they tamed it down again, and I do not like they did it. But many noobs complained that they did not win every race, and so they decided that the AI should get mutilated a bit again in its ability to fight the player.

In the verison of th aI before, which i absolutely loved and claimed to be the best AI in racing sims ever, the AI was a tick in my neck, ver yhard to get rid of, and even going over the curb and mildly into the green just to stay door-to-door with me.

I think sometimes they fall behind because they get caught up battling the car behind them, and then you pull away as they defend and fight. Again, sometimes.

But I agree the earlier version was better, though.

I compared several tracks in iR to those in R3E and was surprised at how close the R3E versions are to the LS versions in iR. Mid Ohio, Sonoma to name a few. I wonder if R3E is using LiDAR data.

I've been playing RR a bit more since the SimuCube firmware updates have matured and was happy to find that the recent Direct-Input FFB-effects have much improved the RR-FFB using the OSW wheel. The FFB is now feeling as good as it ever has in RR; it still lacks some surface detail compared to most other titles but, I'm finding it much more enjoyable - none the less. It's a bit strange to feel some road bumps in SimVibe effects but, not in the wheel however, it's not a deal breaker either. I'm curious about how it might affect motion-rig's as that's something I'm hoping to add in the future.

I posted an according question some time ago, but got nobody hooking up.

Usually some people say that while the tracks's camber and elevation are met well, bumps are a bit missing in RR. Since I do not know whether or not in a given part of the track there should be a feelable bump, I do not miss any bumps. :)

Tracks can be and can feel very similiar in AC and RR, see Spa for example, but also feel very different despite seeming to be similar, see Nürburgring. And they cna be different, see Zandvoort in AC and RR, which has quite different elevation chnages and bumps in both versions. The one is steeper, the other is bumpier. Visually, I often give RR the edge over AC's tracks.

Does not matter - drive, drive, drive: drive them all! ;) Complaining about RR's or AC'S tracks always is complaining on a very high, luxurious niveau. and people are not even polite enough to acknowledge that the latesta nd last-done track sin both sims look better and mor epolished than the older and earlier track sin both sims. The track makers in both studios learned new stuff with every track, and got better skilled with every track. This makes it hard, imo, to speak of a general, homogenous qulity of track visuals in any of the two sims.

Road America certainly is a climax in track visuals. Its stunning, really, it is.

It seems RR is getting Zuhai.

Must say I am not really too excited with this choice.

It's a refreshing development. Could be interesting if a WTCR pack is released in the future.

A bit boring track imo. I had hopes for another classic US-track like Road Atlanta, but a new track is better than no new track.

Road Atlanta would be great. I wonder if R3E got a good licensing deal from the Zhuhai track owner or perhaps they are trying to pull in more Chinese fans. Im someone was happy with the news of this track being worked out.

R3E tracks certainly have more bumps and character than those in iR, IMHO. Either way, I agree, drive, drive, drive !

Georg Ortner should have said in one of his streams that Road America does not mean that more American tracks will be coming soon. There won't be any more of them , not soon, not in the forseeable future.

Not a word on the DTM competition, I thought you R3E guys would have been all over that one, that Merc DTM drives very well.

Just tried r3e for a couple for some hours, and spent most of the time fiddling with settings. I don´t get it. No matter what settings i try , there´s always something different, that feels completely wrong. It just feels weak, no matter, what i do. i test drived the porsche gt3 cup for some time, because i tried some of the porsches at iracing, and really did like it almost as much as the AC one. But this? don´t know, but it feels like in a 90s sim. i just don´t feel anything mid-turn , no matter what i do. It just all feels quite weak. Jumped into the AC Porsche and felt the car immediately midturn. BTW., r3e really sounds outstanding, especially with good headphones.

Much depends on controller settings in RR, but there are too many options for setting up the hardware, and they are not well explained, its very confusing, I am even not certain that I have understood evertyhign correctly - probably not. Fault by Sector 3. But I often found that once somebody hit the right markings, all of a suddden he started to like RR much better.

So: its worth to spend the time carefully trying out these settings and find out what they do. Shouldn't be like this, Sector3 should do a much better job there - but: thats how it is for the time being.
Kick it, or work your way through it.

However, do not expect RR to ever feel like AC. Why should it, if it is not AC, or any other sim. If they would all feel the same, they would be the same sim, basically. Take each for what it is.

I express my praise for the freshly released AMG Mercedes C-class DTM 95 of Raceroom. I was told before how good it is, but did not participate in thos eonline events where it could be tried, just got it today, and I must say it is brilliant. One of the most pleasant cars in RR, and physics so dynamic that the drivers really is kept on his toes, while not being overloaded with it at the same time. The car feels at the same time agile and heavy, and wags its tail easily if you do not adapt your braking to it or swing it around too badly - some people accuse RR of that many of its cars drive "like on rails", well, this one certainly does not, and I would not mind to have this one in Assetto Corsa, exactly in the way it now feels.

One of the best cars in RR. Testdrive it for free.

I assume Alex Hodgkinson has struck again.
