1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

While GT3 racing is a major component of pretty much all simracing titles, I'd suggest the only rival company directly "threatened" by ACC is Simbin and their GTR3.

Don't get me wrong - I'm excited by Kunos change in direction and think and hope it will be very successful - but I think ACCs tight focus will give other developers "space" to produce their own sims. ACC is not PC2 (or indeed rF2) and all the better for that.

Back in the good old days, while naturally there was rivalry, if you wanted modern GT racing you opted for GTR2, if you wanted classic touring and GT racing - GT Legends, NASCAR was Papyrus territory, F1 was split between ISIs F1 series and Crammonds F1. If you wanted rally it was RBR and for classic F1 it was GPL. LFS was the go to for pickup racing and drifting. While there was more than one NASCAR option and more than one F1 option there was never "one sim to rule them all".

One query please... "I'm excited by Kunos change in direction" ? Did they change direction? From ?

Its a bit of a change as its the first focused series specific racing title they are making. Past titles were Netkar, Netkar Pro, Ferrari Virtual Academy and Assetto Corsa. All of these were general titles with mixed classes and random circuits not specific to any particular series like ACC is from what we know so far.

To me it's not so much a change of direction. ACC will not be replacing AC, it's a stepping stone to get to AC2. So I only see it as a side project, test the tech, and then use it from AC2 when it is time to do so, probably in more than a year or two.

Exactly, limit the content due to unknown new tech, while delivering completed title in a reasonable time.

Of course if you are looking for a kitchen sink full of broken features you are on the wrong forum, go ask the guy who "done that".

When did Kunos ever mention AC2?

Primarily I meant that AC is (in common with rF2, Project Cars 1/2 and to some extent RR and AMS) a wide variation (some might say a random selection) of cars and tracks, not intending to simulate a real racing championship. ACC simulates a real racing championship with all the cars, tracks teams and drivers.

But they have also changed direction from in AC developing their own engine to using a third party engine. I'm not implying this is in any way a negative thing.

And of course for AC the motto on the office wall was everyone wants to race in the rain in the dark, but only once (or words to that effect). You could argue that including rain and day/night transition is a change of direction. Again I am not implying this is in any way negative.

Know the feeling. Have gotten new pc, VR, Fanatec csw, rims etc, just because of AC even though I was simracing before.

I’m the same , I started out with an old Fanatec csr wheel that was for forza 4 along with an AMD fx6600k processor and a GeForce 6800 gt.

I now have the spec in my signature,a long way Assetto has brought me into sim racing and I still never tire of it,no matter how many pretenders have come along.

The only sim I drive apart from this is raceroom,it has potential to be great too.

    I look forward to A.C.C

    Cheers

  15. A very good point. Quite a few people seem to be under the impression that Assetto Corsa Competizione is a "stop gap" title until a full blown Assetto Corsa 2 can be developed....but how do we know that this is the roadmap that Kunos have planned? Marco has apparently already stated that the tightly focussed approach of ACC will allow Stefano/Aris/the new bloke to concentrate on nailing the physics of a relatively few cars, all of which have many common attributes. Having to update the physics/tyre model of 178 (or more) vastly different cars is not exactly an enviable task, particularly if it happens multiple times over a product's lifetime.

This is my first gaming PC, abit nervous but will do my best to figure everything out.
I'll have to run on medium, it only has the GTX 1050ti.
The modding community and ACC announcement pushed me over the edge.

Remember if you get stuck with anything ,just ask here ,most are friendly and helpful.

Once P.C. Gaming gets you you’ll never go back to console.

    Good luck :)

If unreal engine goes well, Kunos risks to make history in sim racing, one's again.

So many features (also a map) still not finished yet. Now, the game is dead. Very sad.
No more Early Access games... most of them (i bought) are unfinished and forgotten.
