The Challenge.
Car: Lamborghini Countach
Track: Black Cat County - Long

The Lamborghini Countach, what to say about this car, its an icon, back in the day it was the poster car that graced most lads walls. Striking looks V12 power not to mention those crazy scissor doors!

Its a rather good car to drive as well in Assetto Corsa, whilst not as fast as modern stuff, it is very involving and nicely balanced, , be wary of too much brake pressure when slowing from high speed. Any steering lock in this sort of situation will see the rear want to overtake the front with that big V12 acting as a pendulum!

The long version of Black Cat lets us stretch the Lambos's legs, and explore it's fantastic handling, not to mention provide a bit of Cannonball Run flavour to this weeks proceedings

Setup: Free
Controller: Free
Assists: Factory
Stability:Free
Penalties: On <--- Only applicable to Practice mode.

If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, I really don't like disallowing times!

The Deadline.
Sunday June 4th - 22:00 BST (GMT+1)

How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap / Practice choose the Lamborghini Countach and head to Black Cat County - Long Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature.

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

Ok, let us deal with the elephant in the room! This track is open to abuse, penalties are somewhat lacking Remember the WHC is a bit of friendly fun, with the goal of exploring all of what Assetto Corsa has to offer, if you really need to use the barriers to go fast you are only cheating yourself...

 

haha that 80's music is so p*rn wrong. . Very funny and original to relate this WHC to this classic. Have fun!

I start up AC right now and give this combo a first try.

EDIT: First time ever on this BCC long track. I did not really check my time yet, Have to learn this track better. Now I know what you mean GravelTrap. Shortcutting without penalties...for this learning curve try out I permitted myself but not for setting an actual time!

 

Nice Car and track. Countach was my dream car in the 80s. In the french part of Switzerland i heard one, i was very young, and there was a long straight after a narrow canyon - the driver put the pedal to the metal from the beginning of the straight - we heard him blasting down the country road and it was soooo loud and (for me) fascinating.
Hmmm.. first try... think i never tell anyone how slow i am....

The optimal pressure for this car on track with semi slick:
Front: 35
Rear: 41

I suppose it's the same for the PS4 version with the lastest update. The reason I share it is to avoid unfair advantage.

 

Darn. Really wanted to get to this, but not only did I run into problems with my shifter but now the PS4 itself. Green screen during a load screen and now system software errors preventing the PS4 from starting up altogether. Perfect time to not have either a LAN cable or an external drive to reinstall the software...

Let me set the pace. I added negative camber (-2F/-1.5R) and reduced front toe to 0° (setup value is sthg around 70). Still a lot of time to find here and there, I just have to figure out how to push really hard without ending in one of these big rocks or a barrier.

More than 20 years ago, my dad bought me my first 1/12 scale car, and it was a countach. Thx dad for having so great tastes!

Day 1, A slow start...

I guess the rozzers have been interfering with everyone's lap times, just 5 drivers on the day 1 board, I assume everyone else is in jail already! The kid sets the early pace...

can't believe I've never tried this track or car before, it's really nice to drive.
Not ready to post a time yet , after 5 laps I could only do a 4:33 so lots of practice needed this week.
