1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap #52 - Function Over Form

    The Challenge.
    Car: Ferrari F40
    Track: Spa

    Sorry no screenie so this week, I am having computer problems...

    The Ferrari F40, The Supercar, it really needs no introduction! It really is a fantastic thing the huge turbos do create some lag, so you need to work keep it the motor on the boil, but be careful it will bite when provoked!

    Semi slick will be the tyre of choice, remember to swap out the streets that it arrives on ;)


    The Rules.
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Free

    If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

    Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday October 22nd - 22:00 BST (GMT+1)

    How to take part!
    To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Ferrari F40 and head to Spa. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

    You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

    To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

    Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

    You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

    A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

    Feel free to use the unofficial leader board but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

    We have the green hell in Germany. And this combo is the Red Devil in Belgium. Forgot to make a screenshot --> 2:42 something. Will try later and hopefully go somewhere below 2:40?
    Good luck to you all with this weekly challenge and better already pre order new pedals and shifter ;) My wife thought I was redecorating the room because she heard some hammering. No darling I was just shifting :confused:

    drift machine.
    most important - more and more i can survive such drifts and mistakes without a crash or track violation. only slow as hell.
    and this one was without track violation.
    i am proud!!

    three or four times i must countersteer, dunno exactly what i did. but some weeks ago this would be a crash.

    daniel i'm struggling to go straight but the car likes to oversteer a lot. i have tried semislick a the right temp and pressure but nothing. in your video everything seems sooooo easy....any suggestion to improve?!?

    What preassures are you using? The base set up is for old street tyres and it's way too high for semislicks, I set them to 24 front and 26 rear.
    This car is a little tricky because of the turbo lag, try to use short gears to keep high rpm and minimize the turbo lag. Releasing the throttle a little just before the turbo kicks in helps a lot in keeping the car under control.
    Also, try to brake earlier and release the brakes slowly when arriving the corner, if you get to the corner at a right speed and very well under control it would be much easier to apply throttle on exit.
    Heel and toe on downshifts is a must in this car too, if you don't know how to do it try to downshift at low rpm and release the cluch slowly.

    Another suggested tire pressure & camber setting:

    Camber:
    Front: -1
    Rear: max negative

    Tire Pressure:
    LF: 23
    RF: 23
    LR: 25(or 26)
    RR: 25(or 26)

    I recommend using @Daniel Perez PSI setting & adjust your driving so your PSI stay at 30
    PSI at front. If it goes below, it mean you don't use the brake enough.

    I actually did a quick demonstration last week about the timing on the brake & throttle with that combo, but didn't had the rear camber maxed

    I did this combo to prove a point where you have to avoid pressing the accelerator before the apex & slowly apply throttle once you're on the apex. You can skip to 3:21 for the overhead view to have an idea. The pedal input is about the correct timing while the racing line is off. I completely changed the way I drive in AC to make something rational on something irrational.

    How you doin fellas?
    Must apologize to everyone here for having not participated for the past few months. Went through 2 important events at work and then a change of job didn't give me time to fondle the G29.

    Glad to be back at just the right time though.

    Tonight was the first time I really enjoyed the legendary F40 in Assetto Corsa. My lack of skills ensured me ending up facing the wrong way everytime the boost comes in previous attempts.
    I'm nowhere near fast now, but boy, this car on this track feels GLORIOUS... in excelcis deo!!!


    Thank you for yet another brilliant combo GT!
