1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap #81 - Gojira is a very sweet beast!

Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap #81 : Gojira is a very sweet beast!
    The Challenge.
Car: Nissan Skyline GTR R34 V-Spec
    Track: Vallelunga Classic
    amobs.jpg

    Assetto Corsa_4.jpg
Since we kinda entered in a japanese frenzy on the last few weeks, i thought we could take a drive at a nice and flowing track with one of the most legendaries and pleasent cars ever made, the Skyline R34.
Personally,i dont like it's looks very much, although many people claim this car is gorgeous. What i like about it is how responsive and great this car is on any type of track.Any single corner is a piece of cake with it:very smooth and responsive. The other thing i like about it is that this car is pretty much a computer with 4 wheels. You can't obviously do much with it in Assetto Corsa, but in real life you can tune this car in so many ways that one almost needs a master's regarding this car in order to figure out what to do with it.Also, yeah,i know, fast and furious car,bla bla bla.I don't like those movies and i think this bad boy deserves better than to be forever associated with a movie instead for the wonders that has under it's hood and around the suspension :p .
About the car in wich we will have fun this week, this is a more evolved and powerfull version of the original 1999 Godzila with headlights. The biggest difference between the two is the famous ATTESA E-TS Pro system:a four wheel drive system that transfers power and braking force where it's necessary, dividing torque on both ends of the car. An active LSD at the rear also heps to this car incredible balance.
About figures... 325 bhp,392 NM of torque, and 4,9 from 0-100km/h (0-60 mph).Enough to keeps us tight at the wheel (or controller on some cases :) )

    pista.jpg
I was torn between the classic and regular version of Vallelunga, Well, both versions fitted what i want for this challenge:something that takes away the high adrenaline from last week but still something fast and technical enough to be fun.Vallelunga has many type of corners to put the ATTESA system under test so the it was settled, and the classic ended up here simply because it will allow faster laptimes.Shorter track, less mistakes to be made=more competition between drivers.Lets see how it goes! ;)

    The Rules.
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Free

If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday May 27th 2018 - 22:00 GMT.

    How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Nissan Skyline GTR R-34 V-Spec and head to Vallelunga Classic. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier. Also,to avoid mistakes on laptimes, please enter them with the format x.xx.xxx. This format makes it easier to work with Excell.
A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

Feel free to use the unofficial leaderboard but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

Good luck and have fun ;)

Aim for this Lewis! At the very least.
Glad we are back in a normal car, just changed tyre pressures and fuel. Fronts were getting to hot, I've got at least 5-7/10ths "left out on the track."

Loads of understeer and the springs are made of jelly. That said, it's fun to drive.

A 1.28 is not way off... anything under a 1.3*% is respectable for our inclusive WHCers. I've only managed a high 1:28 so far.

1.28.317 will upload screenshot tomorrow when I'm behind my race PC (now on laptop).

That first long corner after start/finish is a tricky one. For my memory I've adjusted rear wing to 20 and lowered fuel

PS Off topic (again...) for those who have AC on PC you just have to download the classic Feldbergring. In VR with the elevation changes this is one of the best tracks.

For a road car always set cambers to max, with the R34 aim for around 35psi hot on the tyre pressures (you will get one or two laps before the left front overheats), add A little toe out all around and then drive the beast... Don’t forget to set fuel load to 5l as well ;)

Not sure about the wing, it will probably just add drag and slow the car down.

This is a tough track to find time on, the super tight 90 degree turn is a proper lap killer :(

Despite turning off the traction control, it feels like something is holding me back at times, probably imagining things but it sure feels odd.

I have a lap to post, I just need to find the time to edit the clip. It is a bit ragged in places but good enough for a low 27 ;)

Off topic: My Thrustmaster shifter no longer works when plugged in my wheelbase, USB connection directly to the console works ok, I hope it isn’t a sign the wheelbase is about to crap itself!!

Bit rusty with the shifter, bump the limiter on occasion, one tricky shift to master during a corner exit, maybe short shift to third is in order...

A bit of oversteer out of the slow corners, as I am a bit heavy on the throttle  Nervous of the track edges, touching the grass really slows you down

It would be interesting to see what one of the proper fast guys can do with this combo!

The gap can be really large between aliens and the rest of us in this car. The tricky part is braking, I think relying on the ABS is slower than some amount of partial braking but I didn't figure it out. A very tricky car to drive fast!
