1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap #85 - 50 shades of fast

Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap #85 : 50 shades of fast
    The Challenge.

    Car: Pagani Zonda R
    Track: Monza

    Assetto Corsa_2.jpg
    Assetto Corsa_1.jpg

The history of Pagani goes back to 1988 when Horacio Pagani, an argentinian composite department manager from Lamborghini, founded a company bearing his name. Pagani would not stop his collaboration with Lamborghini though, and together with the bull brand, projects like the Diablo, LM002, or the restyling of the Countach came to alive.
But senõr Horacio had his own plans and ideias for vehicles aswell.During the late 80's/early 90's, he established his headquarters in Modena, while designing is own cars. The first he ever designed was codenamed C8 and it was planned to be renamed as Fangio F1,a personal friend of him. However, the death of the five time world F1 champion in 1995 made Horacio change his mind in respect for his friend. The name Zonda was then chose, and it stucks to this day.
The car was subject of many tests, all of them sucessfull enough to draw attention from Mercedes Benz, who agreed to supply the italo-argentinian manufacturer with V-12 engines. Some years later,in 1999,the first Zonda was presented in the Geneva Motor Show and quickly became surrounded with attention due to it's looks and figures from the Mercedes engine.
From that,Pagani kept evolving the Zonda into a very powerfull machine, capable of going head to head with the fastests cars in the world. But even though the R version in which we are going to have fun (hopefully!) in the next week is just one of the many forms the Zonda can take, it was designed in 2007 with the objective of,in Horacio's words,to have a test chassis for components to the next's company project, the Huayra. So only 15 Zonda R's were made (16 if you count the one in your living room! :p ).
A 6.0 V12 AMG engine with a 6 gear sequencial gearbox that makes 750bhp and goes from 0-100 km/h in 2,7 seconds and capable of speeds above 350 powers this wonderfull boy. Wow!
Oh, and the best thing about the Zonda R?It's still from a time when hybrid machines were not much more than paper work, so it's a pure engine. You will have to rely on yourself to be fast!

    Assetto Corsa.jpg
It's truly shocking that we haven't pay a visit to the temple of speed in such a long time! The last time was in the historical version with the old 312 F1 from Ferrari in the #57 challenge. The last time on current Monza?#35,more than a year ago.I can't belive this track, one of the most popular and spectacular in the world, slipped so many challenges. The most difficult part of creating combos is to avoid repeting tracks, since there are so few of them, and here we are, forgetting Monza!
Such a fast car deserves a fast track. The Zonda can be quite sllipery,so i think it will be a nice challenge to go around Variante Ascari in such a car.Buckle up and let's go!

    The Rules.

    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Free

If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday May 24th 2018 - 22:00 GMT.

    How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Pagani Zonda R and head to Monza. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier. Also,to avoid mistakes on laptimes, please enter them with the format x.xx.xxx. This format makes it easier to work with Excell.
A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

Feel free to use the unofficial leaderboard but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

Good luck and have fun ;)

    A question for you friends:

do you think its still worth to buy a wheel for ps4? i mean,ps5 is probably going to arrive in near future...

    moodyryder Hardcore Simmer

Yes. Definitely Hugo. I always thought I didn't need a wheel, that I could play and enjoy games perfectly well with the gamepad. Mostly that is true. Project Cars1 & GT Sport play fine with the ds4.

A.C. is a different beast. The wheel transforms the game. If you enjoy it now you will be amazed how much better it is. No need to break the bank, I only have the t150 but it works fine.

Ps5 is a year or so away. That year will be transformed if you get a wheel Hugo. Do it. You won't regret it. I wish I'd bought one earlier than I did.

Monza Monza Monza. You're right, it's about time. I can't believe I never chose the modern version.

You've been doing this longer than I managed now. It's much appreciated Hugo, thank you. :)

    Simple answer: YES.
A week after you start using a wheel, you'll start to wonder how you even managed to play without one. Once you get used to the force feedback from a good racing wheel it'll be borderline impossible to race with a controller again.

I would say yes but the only question you can ask yourself is which one and will it work with PS5 in the future ?
Any way Hugo if you would now buy one you wont regret it , ones you go .....(wheel ) you never want to return to a gamepad at least for Assetto Corsetta .

YES!!! Keep in mind you first go through a 'learning curve'. First couple of stints you think (and actually you probably are) slower vs the devide you were used to. But once you get the right feeling when using a steering wheel you indeed, like Sven said, never want to change anymore.

What wheel do you have in mind? Budget wise? T150 T300? Don't we think these wheels will also be compatible with future PS(5)? That the older wheels will not be supported that make sense but you would expect that newer ones will be supported.

Definitely, Hugo. You won't regret it. The PS5 is 3 years away yet according to this article - https://www.t3.com/news/no-ps5-before-2021-confirms-sony.

I chuckled when I read Brian's comment about a learning curve because that was me. For the first couple of days I was convinced the wheel wasn't working properly because I was so slow.

Seeing your latest WHC results you should stay with a controller (is better for us ;) )

What immense fun. Did 9 laps out of the box and is was just amazing to begin finding the braking points and work my war around the circuit. Hope I get time to try and improve throughout the week.

Nice times Andy-R and F1415182235. Monza is one of those circuits I struggle with. My laps feel fast, but they aren't.

I felt like I was getting into the swing of this, and had a few tenths left in my combined sector times, and then I tweaked the setup, went slower, and never got it back - just kept being slow... Bah. Those few tenths might be staying on the table!
