1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Where is the best place to download new cars? (with working exterior sounds etc)

    Hi Guys,

I am new to PC & Assetto Corsa (love it btw!) and I have found loads of very good tracks online which look & feel great to drive on etc. without any issues at all.. But I am really struggling to find cars that aren't full of bugs, either cockpit cam is a mess or the exterior sound doesn't work properly. I must have found about 5 out of 100 downloads that actually work.

Can anyone suggest a good website that only offers DLC / car mods that work well with the latest version of Assetto?

any info would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Carl

RD is your best bet for updated mods that are original scratch-made. If something hasn't been updated since a while contact the modders/leave a message and encourage them to pick it up again. You can also replace sounds fairly easily with sounds from other cars though that might not work out well with all cars obviously.

Thanks @Epistolarius that's better link for downloads.

I use only high quality mods and RD is pretty much the only place to get them, or to get info about them in modding discussion sub forum.

I think listing the mods by the most downloaded is your best bet. Bad stuff won't have so many downloads, or, it is indicated in the comments section that it sucks. Really, most of the stuff which is popular, and has decent ratings was also pretty decent. I have yet to come by the mod which is as good as the official content though. But that's IMO true for any sim.

Thanks for the info lads And when u say replace the sounds, I assume u just mean copy & paste sfx folder from one car to another?

Not quite. You need to rename a sound file and edit GUID.txt file to get it to work. Fairly simple task though. Detailed instructions can be found from the net.

Listing by most downloaded is the worst. It doesn't means quality at all, you need to know who made the mod and look up by author.

Looks like you didn't look hard enough:

  12. Yeah I agree with the above - sorting by downloads means you will miss a lot of very high quality content that just isnt as popular, plus the numbers are skewed by how many times they were updated.

I'd probably start with recently updated, but don't just blindly download the too mods, take some time to look into them and see what people are saying, and if it appeals to you.

But RD really is the best place for car mods at the moment, as the best guys are posting there and rips get removed fairly quickly.

Doesn't make much sense if you're new to mods, and you don't know WHO to look up.
Oh, the mod is from you, isn't it? Modesty can be a blessing. :)

Anyway, i'll stick to my recommendation. Looking up which is popular, and got decent rating isn't a bad indicator. Of course, it won't save you from downloading a bad mod from time to time, so you should also drive the cars you downloaded.

Why would you download a car and not drive it? o_O

Don't you sometimes download stuff you never use? Anyway, my point is that in the end, YOU are the deciding factor whether the mod you downloaded is to your liking or not, so, listening to others may not quite cut it the whole time.

Never, but maybe I'm odd or there is just too much crappy mods that don't looks good even on prepared screenshots.
