1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap #102 - Grass Routes

Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap #102 - Grass Routes

    The Challenge.

Car: Mazda MX5 Cup or Abarth 500 Assetto Corse
    Track: Silverstone National

@Andy-R has been sugesting this combo for some time, and even though i find it very interesting and entretaining, i always overlooked it in favour of other combinations. Winning the 2nd challenge and the Councours d'Elegance of the #100 gave him the previlege to finnally see a green go for his ideia.
The MX5 Cup comes from the fourth generation of this very famous japanese leightweight sportscar. It's used for a championship series, in which the lucky (and skilled) winner receives a nice monetary prize and the opportunity to test drive a Lola 08/80. Unluckly for us, there is no Lola waiting if we win something with it in AC.
As for the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse, i don't know much about it - i'm guessing it's a cup car just like the Mazda but the "Assetto Corse" name and the fact that i didn't find much on internet about it makes me think this one is a "fictional" car - if not, then please do tell something about it!
Andy-R can tell you much more about the cars then me,so any questions, please do ask him :p:rolleyes:

    Assetto Corsa_5.jpg

It took 102 challenges for this track to be finally used - here i am, complaining about the lack of tracks that, shame on me!A small but rather interesting track, and it seems perfect for low powered and light cars like the one we will be driving this week!

Andy-R made a youtube video in which we compares both cars - take a look at it,it might get in handy ;)

    The Rules.
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Free

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday November 11th 2018 - 21:00 GMT.

    How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Mazda MX5 Cup or the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse and head to Silverstone National. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier. Also,to avoid mistakes on laptimes, please enter them with the format x.xx.xxx. This format makes it easier to work with Excell.
A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

Feel free to use the unofficial leaderboard but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

Good luck and have fun ;)

There is some info about the Abarth here:
    http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/abarth-500-assetto-corse

BTW I ran some laps in both cars and was 0.04 faster in the Mazda so I think it is fair to say the cars are pretty even here. I know @the3ws was much faster over a lap in the Mazda but I guess the opposite will be the case for some people. Try both and post your fastest overall time :)

I'd like to see just one fastest time list but it would be cool to see the brand next to each entry to see the spread of cars/ lap times

I guess we can do both, post laptimes of the two cars in separate standings and do an overall standing

I've been enjoying the challenge over the past few days. The Mazda is my kind of car, easy to drive! But it looks like the fun is over because my accelerator isn't working (probably my fault). I noticed that a lot of crap had collected around the springs so I decided to clean them. I took the pedal set apart and discovered that the accelerator spring had snapped in two. For months I've been hearing the occasional clicking sound when I lifted of the gas, now I know why. I don't use the clutch so I put its spring in the accelerator. Now the accelerator isn't working. I think in my attempt to take the pedal set apart I may have damaged the cables from the pedal to the circuit board. Looks like I might need new pedals.

    365gt Hardcore Simmer

@the3ws what pedals do you have?

  8. the3ws

    the3ws Hardcore Simmer

    The T3PA.

It turns out that the two gears/cogs in the pedal were no longer in contact with each other, so when I pressed the pedal the cog on the potentiometer wasn't moving. I've fixed it sort of. The accelerator works now, but when I press it in game it reaches 100% throttle before the pedal arm has traveled the full difference. I estimate the pedal is at 80-85% travel.

The clutch spring is a lot stiffer than the accelerator. It's going to take a bit of getting used to. But in the five minutes I've tested it, it seemed easier to regulate the power at lower percentages of throttle application. The downside, other than the travel issue, is my right leg is going to be massive after the work outs its going to get!

When I changed the springs on my t3pa pro's the gearing and the cogs teeth etc must go back in exactly the same place.I've included the Ricometch installation pdf which covers the non pro pedals too.Hope this helps;)

Excellent, thanks 365gt. I thought the problem was to do with where the teeth interlink. I should've taken pics too.

Faster in the Mazda at the moment.. But, what a surprise! (I certainly didn't expect, when I first saw...) this is an excellent and very absorbing challenge! It's now obvious that this is a connoisseur's choice Andy. Skill and delicacy required. I'll slot in as last then.

  20. Andy-R

    Andy-R Alien

Not sure if it is the connoisseur's choice but I like it! These are my kind of modern race cars, proper stick shift, none of that aero nonsense and a smileometer that goes up to 11. They suit the track I think. BTCC runs here along with the support races that include little Clio cup cars. RBR National is another great track for these.

    Still faster in the Mazda.
For the Fiat, is everyone carrying speed in 4th, or screaming round through Maggots and Luffield in third? Obviously l'm aware this question probably reveals some Clarksonian ham-fistedness.
