Ferrari stock setups for Hungaroring

I was doing some practice with the Ferrari at the Hungaroring and both setups felt awful. With the safe preset the car would understeer like there's no tomorrow, and with the aggressive preset it would gain and lose grip at every bump I hit. I'm not a fan of downloading setups, and while I'm no expert by any means, I can usually get the cars to behave the way I want them to, but with the Ferrari, no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the car to drive properly.
I was actually so bad with the default presets that when I chose the BMW, that in my opinion should feel like crap on that circuit compared to the 488, I was immediately a second faster.

Can someone shed some light on the matter? Is it my driving or the setups are actually that bad? Any tips would be appreciated.

 

set the front ARB 3 klicks lower, should help.

 

Or the rear ARB 4-5 clicks lower if you use the aggressive setup

 

I‘m gonna share my setup when I’m off work. I have greatly reduced understeer with this setup. It has controllable oversteer at turn exit the car feels like a totally different car to honest.

Settings I can remember Antiroll bar front 1, ARB rear 2, steer ratio full, preload differential 70 nm.

 

imo Aris has used, in earlier releases, the base and aggressive not so much as great setups that should do amazing but more as a showcase of how the cars work to help people learn.

If the car feels that different, compare the two setups and see what values have been changed.

 

I think I get what you mean. The cars seem to be set up more to exaggerate their characteristics than to make them fast.

I think otherwise, that he's done the couple of setups to feel great out of the box, each of it showcasing its own characteristics. With the Hungaro setup for Ferrari he must have just been smoking some bad stuff, so we can forgive him until next release and the changes he sure will introduces to them.

When you're going to make your own setup you better off making very very small changes on what's already setup so good, again imo, in those two defaults

Has anyone else noticed a change in the ferrari handling with 0.4.2? I had 2 setups which I could basically consistently do low 1.44s and some high 1.43s with. Now with 0.4.2 it feels like traction control is off and the car goes spinning around sharp turns and kerbs I used to be able to touch now send me off into a spin as well. Ironically I can use the safe setup now and do mid-high 1.44s which I could only manage 1.45s with before.

EDIT: think it is the TC - I bumped this up on your setup @Fr0zzen and managed to get back down to high 1.43s however since the chicane limits have been changed in 04.2 I doubt I will get any faster but your setup is awesome thanks!

 

Try rear ARB 3 I think it’s better.
