1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Quick question-- How to take off in Ferrari?

Discussion in 'ACC General Discussions' started by 71st_AH_Vertigo, Dec 20, 2018.

  1. I have a hard time getting the Ferrari rolling.. I have to red line the throttle and throw into first.. even then it sometimes stutters and dies.. is there something I am doing wrong?

    Thx

You need wings first and foremost. Then a turbine with afterburner will help too

    autoclutch activated or manual?
i had the problem with the cars stall with manual clutch.
re-configurate the clutch (remove and add again), then the car does not longer stalls on starting.

Yep, manual clutch does not work.

Also, you will have trouble while approaching the start, granny is back seat driving and controlling the throttle, which I hate.

Manual clutch do work. Rev up and try to let it go controlling the wheel spin. It need practice.
    Those are racing cars.

what i would like to see in the game is a bitepoint setting for the clutch (like in R3E).
i need to release the pedal up to 70% until the clutch catches now.

  8. 1 thing i cant understand: i need to play with clutch pedal only to shift up from N to 1(or N to R) . Then i can shift up and down w/o pedal. Is it made by design or just a bug?

This is how transmission works in race cars. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sequential_manual_transmission

  10. In iRacing (just to provide another perspective) with some sequential transmissions (e.g. Radical SR8) you need to briefly blip the throttle on the downshift even with the sequential shifter...

I have driven some mod cars in AC where this is the behaviour, just means it has auto engine cutoff on upshift but no auto throttle blip on downshift. You can see this info in the bottom right of the loading screen.

Same in AC, there are cars which need rev-matching (blip) even if they're not manual transmission.

About the clutch thing, I am having the same issue (first day in ACC lol). One thing i had to do was inverting the clutch pedal otherwise the car would not move at all. Now i need to learn how much clutch to use not to stall the car. I also like the whole thing of turning on/off the engine.

I noticed this behavior too. Sometimes the car won't go, it's like the clutch is gone on it. Pulling out of the pits is fine but trying to pull away from a stand still on track it just revs with nothing happening.

Sorry to take this a bit OT, but can you give a few examples? I’d like to give them a try.

  16. I simply did not realize that you need to use clutch at take off...
Seems other cars you can just shift into first, and take - off..

Ferrari needs to be finessed into moving at low speeds..

    everything works on my end

Dont know if its a feature of the real 488 GT3 but in ACC its pretty simple really.

    1. Let the clutch out until the revs starts to drop very slightly and hold it there.
    2. Then apply light throttle. You'll hear and see the rev go up and then stop and stay at around 4 - 5k (cant remember the exact number). Giving more throttle wont change rpms unless you almost floor it.
    3. Then let the clutch out very gently and apply more throttle at about the same rate.
    4. The car will move forward slowly and at one point the revs will drop and you'll be away and wont stall.

It will even work when rolling backward on the downhill start of a hotlap session at hungaroring. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes really easy to take of without flooring the throttle and spin the rears.

Hmm first ones that come to mind are the RSS GT1 cars, try the Ferruccio 55 for example (Ferrari 550).
