1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Why I hesitate to play ACC, Why I don't spend more hours in ACC

Kunos has been very quiet and that's a good thing as I have a feeling for the next update is going to be huge with a lot of tweaks, fixes and new tings :)

If I remember correctly the traction control loss is not a bug. I can't find the post now but I believe someone ( I think a dev) outlined that the TC gets disabled when the car changes gear, and the brief moment before it engages again allows the rear to break traction. (If someone could find the post that would be great, I can't even remember what thread it was in though).

I look forward to the release of Spa and Monza, two of my favourite tracks. But what we have at the moment is certainly more than enough for me. Especially with Misano being a new track to me.

The rating system was at first a little daunting. I used ACC to learn Misano. Of course my first laps were terrible, and only a handful counted as I regularly had off tracks when I was finding the limits, but I didn't notice my stats drop dramaticly, and anything I did lose I gained again pretty quickly by just driving good laps as I got better. As long as you aren't a menace online I think you should be safe.

Visibility is a bit of an issue right now. I use VR also and have to disable mirrors in larger grids or performance become an issue for me. Hopefully something optimisation can fix in the future.

I guess 4 wouldn't apply to my scenario as my screen is behind my rig. I can use it for AC1 if I turn round but glad I can navigate in VR in ACC.

    EDIT - Found the quote.

I find ACC more challenging (harder) than AC. Specifically the AI seems more independent and less predictable. I have done much better at the Nurburgring than the other tracks in ACC. Not sure if it's an easier track or I just spent more time focusing on it because it was the only option at first. Also, while I can win against AI at 94-95 depending on the car in AC, in ACC I'm capping out at 87-88. I doubt I have the time to dedicate to get to winning against 100% in either game (or the skill), but I think this gives ACC more headroom as a sim to stay challenging to the large portion of the hobbyists. I would imagine if you are regularly beating AI at 100% you are winning on most servers too and the game becomes boring.

I switch back to AC often as it allows me to race IMSA and WEC tracks and cars, plus my computer handles the larger field better. Hopefully optimizations in future releases improves the ability to max out the field and future versions of the game will include IMSA or WEC series

The Steam numbers show there is still not many people playing online compared to AC or other sims.
I for example did not even try yet (even if 90% of my playing time at AC was multiplayer) as there are so many posts about disconnections and bugs that it seemed better to wait for the next build.

Don't Steam figures represent the total number of players, with the possible exception of the few who may have Steam itself in offline mode?

1- It is not possible to play with the VR in a decent way.

It is the only point for which I do not use it, until the optimization does not improve very much I do not think I use it. I'm not sure this happens, we have not seen any improvement in this time ... Even so I do not mind spending my money, kunos simulazioni has given me a lot of fun with his previous titles.

As many people have said, optimisation is usually the last thing that comes in a game's development cycle. They will focus on getting all the core mechanics of the game done, the hardest and most important parts, like physics and so on, and then work on making it smoother and easier for us.

People you need to realise that ACC is small niche of a game. Not everybody likes the GT3 racing not everybody likes early access. You cant talk numbers now because they are irrelevant . What is relevant is regular updates and road map. Developers follow road map and why would it be different..so far they delivered and hopefully they will keep delivering. and it has been mentioned multiple times already in other thread and this one is also useless because people just turn it in cry thread and how stuff is not in/fixed/we need this etc etc. Cant make people happy not everybody will like it atm. You all knew what you are getting in to..and dont tell me you expect early access game to work ???

currently i have played acc for 25 hours in total and im in love with it, BUT i dont play it now because MP in acc is still unplayable for my standards and im enjoying ac1 races in SRS system so much because i get proper opponents who cares about proper racing and i get all that good stuff as rankings, bug-free experience etc... When acc will get at least properly working online racing (practice/qually/race) maybe kick option in servers for wreckers i will for sure probably jump ship to acc but currently i know its early access so i just coast along this interesting journey named development of acc :) im sure kunos will handle this tittle as well as ac1.

Well I for one am loving the multiplayer.
Yes it crashes quite often (though better now i've rolled back my Nvidia drivers).
Yes, using VR I have to put up with some compromises and the menu disappears when you leave a session (but easy to navigate out of and restart).
But the racing itself when the game is running is fantastic. I haven't come across any intentional wreckers, I've been punted off a few times, though I've done the same myself.
I'm not the quickest driver, but I've managed to win a couple of races by just being consistent and staying out of trouble. Forcing mistakes rather than bonsai'ing down the inside at every corner.

The features will come, and the game will get optimised, the bugs will get fixed. There's no denying it's less than ideal at the moment. However, those on the fence, just put up with the annoyances for now and get yourselves online, it really is a joy.

Regarding MP, I get disconnected so often that I almost gave up. Of course, I am playing from China and that does not help, but I don't have the same number of disconnections in AC. Also sometimes I get fatal errors and the such. Add to this the clumsiness of spinning and then having zero grip in the tires when i restart + remembering to restart the engine. Surely good simulation, but this creates a bit of havoc in MP at the moment, with parked or crawling cars along the track. I am putting more and more hours in ACC and I certainly love the detail of the car simulation, but I am a little scared about the bugs, hope they sort them out.

Overall ACC is compelling to drive, a little less fun than AC in terms of "joy of driving" but probably more realistic, I was impressed on how closely I could replicate the car behavior after watching some videos of the real car on YouTube. One thing I am missing, though, is that feeling of what the front is doing, especially useful because in AC I can use the brakes to rotate the car into a corner and I have that "intimate" feeling of what is happening with the weight transfer. I guess I need more practice, I bought ACC less than 2 weeks ago.

Yes, at 1.0 and maybe some resets in between (as they have already reset). The rating system is a work in progress and will prob be reset as needed for dev and balance purposes.

  19. AC did....just say'n.....

ACC currently gets about a half hour of my time every couple weeks, hopefully by the time Brands Hatch comes (fingers crossed for v1.0) the rest of the game will be in a state that compels me to play it.

I think it’s similar to a new shop.
A nice new shop opens up near to you promising good fresh produce.
To begin with you go in quite a bit because it’s new even though it doesn’t have all you want, then after a few weeks you decide that your old shop has all you want in one visit so end up going back there.
The new shop keeps buying newer better produce and you pay it a visit again when they get this in but always end up back at the old shop as it’s what you are used to.

I think ACC is a specialist shop, great for those interested in what they sell, where more casual shoppers will go to a variety of stores.
