I really lost his point, but if that is it then @Max Doubt why not adjust the view? Views are adjustable for a reason.

If you mean like compared to classic 35mm film cameras "50mm" it's 39.6 in horizontal FOV, or 27 in vertical FOV or 46.8 in diagonal FOV. Although this isn't something you can use for screen FOV.

IMO anyone who have driven real should be able to set right FOV by eye. It's not hard to imagine the box you watch through and set it look natural.

 

I don't know why people get so hung up on FOV. I drive (and do everything else) in real life with two noticeably different field of views without any problems.

 

Same here, never understood why people need calculators and stuff to determine FoV.

 

What would the effect of this be, and what is the rationale behind the settings?

I'm not sure what's up, but I've been starting to get a lot of weird issues since v6. Every once in a while day sessions will turn to night (which breaks my wheels) and engines shutting down?

I do not know if it's lucky, but I just had a one crash on version 0.6.0 so far.

Afraid the new start sequence is much worse than before. Now all the bad drivers get bunched up onto the front runners and cause mayhem at t1. (if not at the start line!) Was much better when the first 2 or 3 rows could stretch the field. And the limiter bounce is grating on ones concentration! Please rethink this decision.

He he. Come on. You showing two diference pics.
The first one is almost an orthogonal view. It have to be taken from far and a great zoom.
The second one is taken from above, from a near point of view and a smaller zoom that add more perspective and proportions deformation.
The models are made from measurements of the real counteparts and also from digital data. Ok, it could have some detait difference here and there, but the base dimensions, length, width and height it is very hard to believe that it is wrong. Especially at the case off ACC where the devs had great support from the teams, access to the cars and a lot of data.
See for example the detail of the cockpits.

I even read from a guy saying that Monza track is straighter than the real one. He must had miss something, it is laser scanned.

The user that initially brought this up before your uncalled for reply to me that my responses to said post are "dismissive, defensive and somewhat condescending" and "demonstrate a misunderstanding of the point being made" (?). You didn't read the initial post properly in the first place but posted about it anyway?

As I said, make a thread about it (if no one has yet) - help getting it fixed or clarified how to adjust your view. If not, then that's fine too. Don't know where you're getting from that I'm having an argument with you.

 

You can't say its bad because its bad now. With safety ratings and penalty systems working, it will be working as intended. Or maybe it will be different with penalty system.

 

The FOV you should set depends on a lot of stuff, like your tv set size, how far you sit from it, the fov angles, etc eLY

I once saw a video of a guy that set it PERFECTLY and while he was playing someone was recordhing him from his back; well it was totally perfect to the point it felt he could touch the car's inside's part. Was reallyu amazing, never been able to make it feel "like the real thing" with my settings
