1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

The ACC GPU Benchmark Thread

Did a few tests, also my card is slightly downclocked from before to around 1515 mhz for noise reasons. Driver settings were forcing x16 AF and the undervolt to 1515 mhz.

    Using recommended benchmark settings:

    2019-03-12 16:26:58 - AC2-Win64-Shipping
    Frames: 3751 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 62.517 - Min: 47 - Max: 90

    Setting Foliage LOD to Epic:

    2019-03-12 16:29:58 - AC2-Win64-Shipping
    Frames: 3459 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 57.650 - Min: 43 - Max: 83

    All Settings High/Epic:

    2019-03-12 16:21:30 - AC2-Win64-Shipping - All Epic
    Frames: 2742 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 45.700 - Min: 35 - Max: 61

So basically, using the benchmark settings it's comparable to my last runs.

Nice! Thanks for the comparisons and the confirmation. I had clarified with pankykapus on which settings would match the previous ones.

You're partly right. The AF override is kind of a cheat. But the performance setting isn't. I'll re-run with 16 AF and change my entry.

Here are my results with only the filtering quality set to 'performance', ReShade turned off and Memory OC increased from 930 to 950MHz:

    2019-03-12 22:51:52 - AC2-Win64-Shipping
    Frames: 3863 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 64.383 - Min: 49 - Max: 94

So here's my result with the AF override cheat removed:

    2019-03-23 10:16:06 - AC2-Win64-Shipping
    Frames: 4252 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 70.867 - Min: 54 - Max: 102

    Will update table later.

I won't override the AF in the driver, anymore. I took screenshots of 2*AF, 8*AF and 16*AF and the difference is much bigger than I thought, initially. AF really helps for crisp textures and is well worth some compromise in other GFX settings.

Hmmm...the flickering/jaggies are getting worse though when going back to 16 AF...maybe some middle ground is a good compromise.

@Schnipp IIRW you have ReShade. Can you tell me if adding ReShade AA can make the image smoother and how this affects FPS performance?

Don't recall if I tried the AA option ReShade provides. I think I did, but didn't satisfy me visually.

Mostly use it for some contrast and color adjustments and used it's sharpening feature before we got the Sharpen option in-game.

there is already the option of sharpness in the game

    I experimented with ReShade.

First, the crash on starting ACC comes from having both FRAPS and ReShade running - it happens to me, as well. If only FRAPS is running, you get the warning. If only ReShade is running, there's neither warning nor crash.

Second, although I find ReShade very good, the AA options aren't powerful enough to tackle the jaggies in ACC. The jaggies that are most intrusive IMO are the track limits, startting position markers, frameworks of fences and skywires. They are being detected by the SMAA algorithm (can be seen in the debug view) but the AA seems to be minimal.

Blur does work alright but the amount needed to prevent the flickering is so strong the entire image will look like there's vaseline on the screen. I tried blur and sharpen afterwards. It kind of works but also introduces unnatural image and artefacts. The same effect can be achieved by simply reducing AF, again. 8 or 4 seem to be good compromises...it really is a trade-off between crispness and aliasing.

I also tried reshade with SMAA and had the same experience you mentioned. Back to TAA...

I don't know if there is any performance difference between setting AF via the driver or engine. AF can also be set via UE4 engine.ini tweak.

    Good to know.

And about ReShade's AA, I think that was similar to what I thought about it, but I tried it on v0.1 or v0.2 so it was a while ago.
In the end the visual difference was either minimal or the image got too mushy.

I deactive AdaptiveSharpen as it was a big performance hit and with v0.2 or v0.3 the ingame sharpening option was added which is close in quality (I'd say 90% of ReShade) but with no performance hit.
ReShade Clarity does look good, but I think it was a bigger performance hit than I thought, so I turned it off to get better fps.

Currently I'm running only Curves (contrast looks better IMO) and Tonemap to reduce blue tint a bit.

I updated the table in post 1. Since the previous settings could be reproduced with Panky, there was no need for a reset. I added a row with the date because in many cases, people don't write down the version. The date can be used to determine the version. But as there were no performance changes between the versions so far, this isn't so important.

40 entries and they all stack up like they should - mainly sorted by the expected GPU performance - indicating that this benchmark is good! Together with the CPU benchmark, it's kind of an ACC shopping guide. Me gusta.

The 2 2080 Ti's we have in the GPU bench though are "unnaturally" far apart with 166 and 201 AVG FPS. @luxxx797 could you please rerun the benchmark? Thanks.

Hey Deatroy. I'm "test driving" an RTX 2070 right now. I can't find 6 points in the driver that can be set to performance - only 1: filtering quality. Where are the others? Thanks.

Sorry for my late reply. I had 2 weeks holiday in Netherlands hehe

Point 1 is the visual Setting at the starting Screen. First setting.
    Point 2 pre rendering frames 2D - I use 2 instead of number 1
Point 3 threaded optimisation on On
    Point 4 Display Scaling off
Point 5 AF from Quality to High Performance
Point 6 Pre Rendering Frame VR again 2, I use Rift
Also in the future UE4 supports ASW 2.0 with Nvidia, so yea good one for me aswell when ACC updates UE4 Engine to a newer one
