1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge #123 – Lucky John’s whip

Discussion in 'Console Lounge' started by Totall Wrytoff, Apr 7, 2019.

  1. Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap Challenge #123 - Lucky John’s whip and the Second Round of our 3rd mini-series - Die Meisterschaft Deutschlands (The Championship of Germany)

    The Challenge:
    Hotlap
Car: Porsche 718 RS 60 Spyder
    Track: Highlands Drift Circuit
    upload_2019-4-7_21-11-25.png
    upload_2019-4-7_21-11-35.png
The Porsche 718 is a sports-racing car for the small engine displacement classes, built between 1957 and 1962. It was the factory team racing car and the first time privateers could buy and race a factory Porsche.
The 718 was a versatile machine and came in several versions, with different engine sizes and body configurations depending on the races it was entered for, which in the period, ranged from the F1 Championship to Le Mans 24hrs to The European Hill Climb Championships.

Apparently only 18, or 22 Porsche 718 RS 60 Spyders were built, depending on who you read, which included four factory team cars for 1960. For those of you that fall in love with the car after this week’s challenge you’ll need to be feeling wealthy if you’re interested in picking one up. One of the four works cars, raced by Moss, Hill and Gurney amongst others, was sold for $5,400,000 at the Pebble Beach Auctions in 2015.

Once again, it is not clear which version we have in AC. Judging by the 150hp quoted on the AC Tech Specs we seem to have a version with the Type 547/3 1498cc flat four quad-cam engine, which produced around 142hp and was used in the early Porches 718s. But the 718 RS 60 was introduced in 1960 after FIA rule changes and had a larger 1587cc Type 547/4 engine, developing between 166hp and 178hp, depending on who you read. Does anyone know the chassis number of the car featured in the game?

Whichever engine we have, it’s a brilliant car to drive and I’m very surprised it hasn’t been run in a WHC before now. My original plan was to run this around the Red Bull Ring National Circuit, but it is such an excellent car it deserves a more thorough examination. So, having tried a number of tracks, Highlands Drift is our mini Targa Florio this week. I know we have used this track fairly recently, but I think it is great drive in this car. Around two and a half minutes of delightful handling. Don’t take it from me, here’s a very interesting read - https://petrolicious.com/articles/d...drive-the-porsche-718-around-the-targa-florio

Hans Herrmann is a German motor racing driving, who raced sports cars and later F1 in the 50s and 60s. He was also known as Hans im Glück (Lucky John) after walking away from several huge accidents. He’s had a fascinating life, including being kidnapped once in the 1990s and kept in a car trunk for hours before escaping. Aside from that he won the 1960 Targa Florio and 12hrs of Sebring in the 718 RS 60, so this week’s WHC is dedicated to him.
    upload_2019-4-7_21-15-57.png

The recommended pressure for the GT60 Vintage tyres is 40psi all round.

    Weekly Hotlap Challenge Championship League
    How it works:
    1. Enter the Weekly Hotlap Challenge as posted every Sunday evening and you will be automatically entered into the league table.
    2. Your ranking in the final standings, posted on Sunday evening, will earn you points, as follows:
    Place Points: 1st 15 2nd 14 3rd 13 4th 12 5th 11 6th 10 7th 9 8th 8 9th 7 10th 66
    3. Every player taking part in a WHC, but finishing outside the top 10 will get 4 points.
    4. Every player who is in the table, (ie has entered a previous WHC) but does not play that week will get three points each week.
    5. Players that join WHC after WHC#114 will be awarded 3 points retrospectively for every WHC missed. For example, if you enter WHC for the first time at WHC#124, your name will be added to the table, with 27 points, plus whatever you score in WHC#124.
    6. Specialist Challenges will also feature throughout the season. These will be as monthly mini-series, for example Formula 1 February or Muscle Car Month, or nominated car types, for example the best driver in road cars. These events will be announced in the WHC Thread.
The updated Championship league table will be displayed in a new post in the Console Lounge each week.

At the end of the year, the WHC before Xmas week, the winners will be declared -
    * Championship podium
    * Specialist Challenge Winners
    * 1st place Contributor (the most Bonus points)
    * 1st place Loyal Lapper (who has entered most regularly, most often, if there is a draw, Bonus points count, then Champ points)

It’s hard being the first to post coz you never know how near or far off your time is.
When I first saw the car I was a bit sceptical but now I’ve tried it out i think it’s ace.
So much fun sliding it into corners and feels great on highlands. Good choice Totall!!!

I love this little car. I'm using it recently to learn Targa Florio
One or two laps a week it will be a long process :D But so much fun! Finally I could improve my lap time under 40 minutes
I highly recommend this project to every PC guy:
    https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/targa-florio-73-pre-alpha.23298/
He is a very nice guy, doing it since years. I became his patron, every month he sends a new build, there are vegetation and buildings already. There are some versions of the track out there, but their quality is nowhere near to this one.

Ooh I’m definitely in for this one gents!

Love this car, just finished a series in it yesterday on SRS which was totally epic, managed to come 3rd and there were 2 thoroughbred aliens in there so best I could do :p

If anybody is interested in taking this car to some classic tracks and want some guideline lap times, I am pretty sure the top times in that series (below) would have probably destroyed every RSR record :)

In fact I do have the top RSR time for Laguna and was beaten on the day as you can see! Goodwood and Thomson Road are particularly superb in this car.

Unfortunately no time to try this one until later in the week, but I'll leave you with a preview...
