Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap Challenge #125 – “A One Are Eight” and the Final Round of our 3rd mini-series - Die Meisterschaft Deutschlands (The Championship of Germany)

For the Final Round of Die Meisterschaft Deutschlands we are back to road cars and the unused so far in WHC, Audi R8 V10 Plus. The car we have in the game is the second generation (Type 4S) of the R8 sports car produced by Audi. The Type 4S is based on the Lamborghini Huracan and shares its platform and engine. It was introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and production began later that year.

AC quotes power as 550bhp, but the 5.2-litre V10 in the Plus apparently delivers a peak power of 602bhp at 8250rpm and peak torque of 413lb ft (around 560Nm) at 6500rpm. According to Evo magazine, “it really is one of the last great naturally aspirated engines on sale.“
Drive goes to all four wheels via a seven-speed, twin-clutch gearbox, the four-wheel drive system can divert 100 per cent of torque to either axle, while a limited-slip differential further apportions drive between the rear wheels.

So it’s ideal for the mix of corners and straights offered by the Red Bull Ring Sudeschleife National Circuit. Run wide and you'll get a penalty!

The recommended pressure for the Street tyres is 37psi front and 39psi at the back. Semislicks are 33psi all round.

How to take part - Hot lap:
To enter, select Drive > Hotlap, choose the Audi R8 V10 Plus and Red Bull Ring National Circuit. Please setup the session as shown below:

Mode: Hotlap
Time of day: Free
Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
Setup: Free
Controller: Free
Assists: Free
Stability: Free

To qualify for WHC you must have the ambient temp set to 26 DegC.

Deadline: Sunday 28th April 2019 - 21:00 GMT.

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like. It is all about taking part, testing yourself and enjoying Assetto Corsa. All Platforms are welcome.
To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Weekly Hotlap Challenge Championship League
How it works:
1. Enter the Weekly Hotlap Challenge as posted every Sunday evening and you will be automatically entered into the league table.
2. Your ranking in the final standings, posted on Sunday evening, will earn you points, as follows:
Place Points: 1st 15 2nd 14 3rd 13 4th 12 5th 11 6th 10 7th 9 8th 8 9th 7 10th 66
3. Every player taking part in a WHC, but finishing outside the top 10 will get 4 points.
4. Every player who is in the table, (ie has entered a previous WHC) but does not play that week will get three points each week.
5. Players that join WHC after WHC#114 will be awarded 3 points retrospectively for every WHC missed. For example, if you enter WHC for the first time at WHC#124, your name will be added to the table, with 27 points, plus whatever you score in WHC#124.
6. Specialist Challenges will also feature throughout the season. These will be as monthly mini-series, for example Formula 1 February or Muscle Car Month, or nominated car types, for example the best driver in road cars. These events will be announced in the WHC Thread.

The updated Championship league table will be displayed in a new post in the Console Lounge each week.
At the end of the year, the WHC before Xmas week, the winners will be declared -
* Championship podium
* Specialist Challenge Winners
* 1st place Contributor (the most Bonus points)
* 1st place Loyal Lapper (who has entered most regularly, most often, if there is a draw, Bonus points count, then Champ points)

First few laps to get a time on the board. This was a bit messy through the wriggly bit in the middle (Wurth Kurve area) but the best of the five. I think the tyres need more air.

Perfect combo for me. The family still here till the end of the week so road car with a short track that I kind of know, perfect. I'll be able to jump for 10 min and do 3 laps. Good fight last week well done. Good to watch sometimes.

Sand-bagging?

 

Thanks a lot. I did find it difficult last night. Maybe I was celebrating easter too much. Took off the TC. Toe 4f, 7b and it helped. Tryed a few psi but back to 25 all around. Camber I am not sure. After trying a few I am back to stock.

Couple more tenths, just tidying up, I bled time away out of the final corner, so here comes a high 56. But chunky improvements are going to take something more.

 

I went at it for a while. I just felt in the groove. I feel this is the best I will accomplish though. I want to order a load cell for the brake pedal on this setup..I know I'm losing time on braking.
