1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge #127 - Questro mostro soffia forte!

Discussion in 'Console Lounge' started by Totall Wrytoff, May 5, 2019.

  1. Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap Challenge #127 - Questo mostro soffia forte! (This monster blows hard!) and the Second Round of “Il Campione d'Italia” mini-series.

    The Challenge:
    Hotlap
    Car: Pagani Huayra BC
    Track: Monza 1966 Road Course
    upload_2019-5-5_21-22-40.png
    upload_2019-5-5_21-22-51.png
The Pagani Huayra BC is a mid-engined, road legal but track focussed sports car, produced by the boutique Italian sports car manufacturer Pagani. If you were sniggering at this week’s title, the car is in fact named after Huayra-tata, a Peruvian wind god. BC stands for the late Benny Caiola, a friend and mentor of Horacio Pagani and the first Pagani customer.
As well as the first Zonda, Benny Caiola had an automotive collection which, according to Forbes Magazine, was viewed as one of the most exclusive Ferrari collections around the world. He passed away aged 79 in April 2010.

The Pagani Huayra BC is a monster. It really blows! It has a six litre, twin-turbocharged V12 developed specially by Mercedes-AMG. This brute produces around 750bhp and a huge 811lbf/ft (1,100Nm) of torque. It has an Xtrac 7-speed sequential manual transmission and weighs only 1,218 kg (2,685 lb), due to a new material called 'carbon triax, developed in house at Pagani, which is 50% lighter and 20% stronger than regular carbon fibre.
    upload_2019-5-5_21-23-28.png
There is much more “geek mode” stuff too. The tyres are Pirelli P-Zero Corsas that feature 12 different rubber compounds and the suspension and wishbones are made of aeronautical grade aluminum called Avional.

    And there is active aero!
This is designed to achieve speed, stability and grip through minimal drag or maximum downforce depending on the situation. The Huayra has a control unit that processes information about the car's speed, yaw rate, lateral acceleration, steering angle and throttle position. It can change the height and rake angle and independently adjust four aero flaps placed at the rear and front of the car. It will also prevent excess body roll in the corners by increasing the downforce on that side of the car. The rear flaps also act as an airbrake. Under hard braking, both the front suspension and the two rear flaps are raised to counter-act weight transfer to the front wheels and keep the whole car stable. It looks weird, if you have time to notice!
Compared to the standard car, the BC also has a special front aero package, deeper side skirts, a huge diffuser and enormous rear wing. You'll be hoping that all works on the way into turn one!

Here are some thoughts on driving the Huayra BC from the excellent EVO magazine:
“The chassis has some understeer dialled-in to it, but despite its huge dimensions and sheer torque on offer, it’s an easy car to exploit. Turn in a bit slower or with a sharp lift of the throttle and the understeer is gone. Now get on the power and you can sense the rear starting to take some attitude, the car balanced in a lovely, accessible mid-corner phase. Keep opening the throttle and inevitably the rear tyres start to spin-up and the BC exits the turn with just a mild twist of oversteer. And all under the watchful eye of the superb traction control Sport setting. Turn off the assistance and 811lb/ft can quickly get a hold of even those vast Pirellis so only do so if you’re feeling particularly sharp. Having said that the BC’s main strength is that it’s a relatively easy car to drive even at the very edge of grip – amazing considering its outright potential.”

The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is a historic race track north of Milan. It was built in 1922 and is the world's third purpose-built motor racing circuit after Brooklands and Indianapolis. The 1966 Road Course gives us just under 6km to stretch the BC’s legs and you’ll see a “double ton.”

There’s just one dilemma…”will sir have it in the Blue Carbon Orange, or Carbon Carbon Red with the gold wheels...?”

The recommended pressure for the hypercar road tyres is 30psi front, 32psi rear. The Trofeos are 32psi front and 33psi rear.

How to take part - Hot lap:
To enter, select Hotlap, choose the Pagani Huayra BC and the Monza 1966 Road Course. Please setup the session as shown below:
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free

    Weekly Hotlap Challenge Championship League
    How it works:
    1. Enter the Weekly Hotlap Challenge as posted every Sunday evening and you will be automatically entered into the league table.
    2. Your ranking in the final standings, posted on Sunday evening, will earn you points, as follows:
    Place Points: 1st 15 2nd 14 3rd 13 4th 12 5th 11 6th 10 7th 9 8th 8 9th 7 10th 66
    3. Every player taking part in a WHC, but finishing outside the top 10 will get 4 points.
    4. Every player who is in the table, (ie has entered a previous WHC) but does not play that week will get three points each week.
    5. Players that join WHC after WHC#114 will be awarded 3 points retrospectively for every WHC missed. For example, if you enter WHC for the first time at WHC#124, your name will be added to the table, with 27 points, plus whatever you score in WHC#124.
    6. Specialist Challenges will also feature throughout the season. These will be as monthly mini-series, for example Formula 1 February or Muscle Car Month, or nominated car types, for example the best driver in road cars. These events will be announced in the WHC Thread.

The updated Championship league table will be displayed in a new post in the Console Lounge each week.

At the end of the year, the WHC before Xmas week, the winners will be declared -
    * Championship podium
    * Specialist Challenge Winners
    * 1st place Contributor (the most Bonus points)
    * 1st place Loyal Lapper (who has entered most regularly, most often, if there is a draw, Bonus points count, then Champ points)

Raised the tyres pressures for this shakedown.

I have to make a point about fair play this week, just because of the track penalties on this particular circuit.
In some places you can hit the armco and bounce back onto the circuit, which for real, would result in shattered carbon triax and an absolutely inconceivably large invoice.
So, as discussed a couple of weeks ago, please drive fairly... Tibor's Rules apply!:D

  14. :D Good call LeiF, but have you tried the Full Course in this car? I hit 225mph... but felt quite queasy after two laps. The bumps on the banked section are just too bumpy for my delicate constitution! I imagine they also take months off the life of the plastic bits inside my G27.

Should I upgrade to a Fanatec? I'm poised, is it worth it?
What does everyone think? (Apologies for re-raising this issue:D:D)

  15. Emmanuel Tubbiolo

    Emmanuel Tubbiolo Hardcore Simmer

No actually I wanted to ask everyone the same thing. I heard about T500 or direct drive. I will like to upgrade but for something much better.

  16. Ever since I watched a video about how the G29's drive mechanism makes turning into a corner a lottery, I've had the yips!
I think a decent brake feel would also make a significant difference. With the G29 set, as you squeeze, the brakes bite way before you feel pressure, I've wrecked sooo many laps locking up, miles off the apex! On non ABS cars I run 85-90% brake pressure, which allows you to feel your way in to the braking area, but presumably slower around a lap.
It's a "workman, tools" issue possibly, but it often helps to throw money at a problem!

(Just to clarify, the English idiom is - "a bad workman blames his tools":D)

@Totall Wrytoff - T500RS is a good wheel. mine has ~ 2000hours of Assetto Corsa and ACC now and it feels still fresh:)
To have a good FBB in ACC i reduced overall strength ~ 10% and now FFB is a little to "loose" in AC - but i tested the huyara on the full course and its really okay (only the sparks from sol are annoying....) - i hate it when the wheel lets the whole desk rattle and shake - my wife often asks - "what the hell are you doing there ???" :p
