1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

There are going to be so many 'this new tire model didn't change anything!!!' posts when people still spin out from bad driving.

looks like i was wrong :) great work thanks guys!

  6. Two things i noticed after 30-40 laps with the new tyre model.
-The feel over inside curbs is very consistent lap after lap. We're able to attack curbs knowing exactly if the car can take it or not, and it's great to finally be able to trust curbs in an AC game.
-Both through handling and force feedback, there's a bigger difference in feeling between flat curbs and steep curbs. For example some flat curbs that used to upset the car before, now feel almost like an extension of the tarmac, like they should be.

So far i'm really happy with this update, thank you Kunos, i can't wait to put more time into it over the weekend.

    Dear developers,
that's real rocket science for me. Unbelievable what you are doing. Please keep it up.
Alone the 5-point tire physics affects me so complex that you can make a docor title in it.

    Absolutely amazing!

Thank you so much for this insightful post about the tyre model. As a user who's deeply interested by the technical side of racing simulators, namely the tyre model, this explanation makes me appreciate ACC even more when playing it now. It also highlights the value of laser scanning tracks, since little details are captured with an amazing accuracy, making it ever more important to approximate the physics from reality as much as possible. Not only a laser scanned track is more realistic itself, but it also encourages the refinement of the already great physics.

I wonder what other benefits this more complex tyre model brings in the future, in addition to a better behaviour over the kerbs and bumps.

  9. I'm new here, but I have to say, this is still an interesting read!
Not only for the implementations but also for the technical explanations on how a GT3 works. Gold!
