Will we ever get an update/comment about RTX support?

Title sorta says it all - does anyone have any facts about RTX still being on the list to be added? I know there are a lot of issues with the game right now, as in a lot, but it would be nice to know if a feature that was advertised when the game was announced, and is still on NVIDIA's list of RTX titles will still be getting the feature. I can be patient, of course, just wanna know if that patience is ever going to pay off or not.

And please, let's not have another "RTX sux", "RTX is dead" thread - many of us own RTX cards and some of us even bought ACC early since RTX was listed as a feature. I have nearly ever racing sim on the market and sorta only picked up ACC due to RTX support as I want to see how pretty it would be. If it's completely off the list and isn't coming I'd understand, it was just be good to know so I can just forget about ACC all together.

So, anyone know if there is any official word on the subject??

Could you point me to where Kunos advertised RTX support? I'd be interest because I never saw it personally.

So many bigger issues. They pulled VR support form steam listing. I’m guessing that’ll come first.

 

Well htat's not Kunos advertising RTX but nvidia, but there are the facts: RTX in ACC confirmed. OP can relax.

That's right, ACC was announced as compatible ray tracing, but finally, in view of the graphic resources needed to turn the game currently with high tricks (hight epic), it would take a war machine to be able to do it in good conditions with ray tracing.
Knowing that to fully appreciate this technology a deffinition of 2560X1440 is a minimum.

 

OP is very relaxed, but thanks, I appreciate your concern over my health. Where did I seem not relaxed? And yes, in all the original listings for the game when it went to Early Access RTX support was listed. It's listed in dozens and dozens of places online. Not sure where you read that I'm upset in any way - I just wanna know if it's still on the list or not. If it isn't then fine, I'll stop paying attention, uninstall and play any of the other dozen great racing sims I already have.

THANK YOU - I get so tired of this "I didn't see them advertise that so they must have" crap - again I fully understand that if they choose to pull it they can, but if I choose not to play it because I wanted that feature and it doesn't have it that's equally as valid.

Thanks for posting exactly what I was trying to avoid - yet another argument about the machine needed to run this. It's a good thing people like this didn't work for Crytek back in the day or we'd never have gotten Crysis, right? Some of us have very beefy rigs, dual SLI RTX 2080Ti, 5.3Ghz 8086k chips, etc. And this game will be around, well, forever and GPU's are only getting faster. Some of us actually want prettier pixels, not faster or higher resolution ones.

So again if anyone knows any factual answers to the question "is RTX support going to be added" please by all means chime in. And again sps_for_race THANK YOU for pointing that out to everyone, that "argument" was wearing thin (as I've had it over and over)

If VR is a niche within a niche in ACC then RTX is another level down in that niche. People who are ready to use RTX now are probably fewer than the VR people. RTX will only be appropriate for nice screen shots since the sim will be a Powerpoint presentation, not a driving sim.

 

I'm sorry, maybe I'm not understanding but do you have any factual information about whether or not RTX support will be added? Why is it that people just can't help themselves and have to try to bash what someone else wants or likes? There have been many many thousands of RTX cards sold - roughly 3.5% of all responses to the Steam Hardware survey have RTX cards. I can't find sales numbers from NVIDIA nor the total number of responses to the hardware survey (which isn't exactly scientific obviously) but that equates to a great number of gamers. And really, do you think anyone that owns an RTX card and the most cutting edge VR headset on the market doesn't know all of this? Are you replying because your fingers were tired and you needed to stretch them out as in no way is this helpful.

So again - does anyone have any factual information as to whether or not ACC will ever get RTX support as advertised when it was first announced, and still by NVIDIA? If not maybe let's not clutter up the thread with opinions, maybe start another thread for that?

Tbh at the moment people would use it only for screenshots. I would love to have dedicated photo mode which is able to render ray traced screenshots after you click to save them, even on older cards. Just like photo mode in pCars2 looks way better than game itself. But i would say we are far from it because probably there are plans to improve or add many more important things.

 

It's been asked a few times and unfortunately Kunos haven't stated a straight yes or no, 505 Games have their current official position published here:

Hopefully this is updated to a more positive stance in the future. I would guesstimate that it has been implemented already but Kunos have it disabled due to poor performance, maybe the next gen Nvidia cards might trigger them to unlock it.

 

RTX is like a demo function at the moment in any game on the 2080 cards. I'm holding my money until they present the 3080 or whatever the next gen will be named.
Pressuring Kunos for RTX now is too soon IMO.

And that was what to do with the FACTS around it being added or not? YOU might think it's only a demo function but I don't give two craps about your opinion, if I had I would have asked "what are your thoughts on RTX" - I care about FACTS around it's release or not. UGH.

FACTS were posted earlier and since this is a forum we are allowed to post opinions. FACT is RTX has to wait until the rest of the sim is working as intended.

 

Of course you're "allowed" to post anything you want - but why be a jack@ss and post random garbage in a thread, do you just hate RTX that much? Do you even own an RTX card? You say it's a "FACT" that "RTX has to wait" - really, do you work for Kunos or any of the developers of this game? Do you have any link of reference to support your "fact"? Ah, no, no you don't - that would make it your opinion. I guess it was silly of me to expect a mature response to this question, I've never understood if it's jealousy or just ignorance that makes others crap on features that someone else might want. But I'm sure you'll reply with your opinion that will again add nothing but length to a thread that specifically tried to avoid these kinds of comments. UGH.

Man you're 2 for 2 - and again thank you for actually answering my question with facts rather than sharing an opinion I couldn't care less about. I suppose it's that "yet" that is keeping me coming back every few months to see if they've added it yet, or at least plan to - or have decided they never will. While I understand why game developers are so tight lipped on this kind of thing boy it would be nice and refreshing if they actually shared with us, wouldn't it??

Yeah, sad isn't it - you need only look at the current political climate to understand that most people stopped caring about facts long long ago - and everyone feels like everyone else cares about their opinions. Hopefully we can all get back to caring about fact over fiction soon.
