1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Dear devs any plan introducing safety car and pit animation?

Well, but to be honest, nobody is talking about making this a mandatory feature. The people who want it, want it optional for league racing/singleplayer. It just adds immersion and can change a race significantly. Thats realistic. I'm also advocating for random car failures, but they seem to be very rare in real life as well. I just want to feel, like I'm actually racing in blancpain, not playing a game, pretending to do so. As a league owner, I like to see underdogs win sometimes. The best races we had over the years, were races, that had safety cars mixing it up. suddenly the guy in P7 was able to gamble on wet weather tires and could win, thanks to the safety car. Without it, he would've not been able to make that gamble, because he was over 40s behind. It just adds realism, tension and more strategy. As one of the guys, getting wins ruined by safety cars, I still can say that I love them. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Thats racing. I was the guy, that was in P2 in that race and that was making a pass in those conditions to lead with 2 laps to go. I lost the lead 2 sectors from the finish. I still was so happy, because I love strategy and thats how strategy works. None of the top 3 could afford to pit, since we were too close in the championship and no-one was brave enough to risk it all.

If I want to have static races, I can watch e-sport or do races on my public server, where the fastest guys just drive faster and win. I also would love weight penalties for my league, but since those are too far off the original series, I won't advocate for them.

And to implement it into leagues, it's simple. Just as in rf1/rf2 or whatever sim-leagues...if you crash and retire, you have to let your car stand, where you retire for one full lap. That was in the rulebook for most leagues, I've driven in and it worked perfectly. Either we had a manual SC driver who then came out and who gave the command to ESC, after the field bunched up, or the AI got triggered which mostly worked well. Except for weird mod-tracks, but since ACC tracks are all in the base game, that shouldn't be a problem.

Also, this is the most stupid thing I've read here in a long time. Most sims have a SC working, even games like F1 201x have it working. You don't need cranes, tractors and marhalls simulated. But I saw your attitude on my server before, so I probably shouldn't expect you to be mature now.

Well at least a pace car for race starts seems to be quite needed for the official Blancpain gam...uuhm..simulation. ;)

But, considering the pace car pulls off some distance before the race starts, how would it stop people jumping the start?

It would be basically there for immersion (we would have to get rid of the limiter ofc). The real pace car couldn't stop people jumping the start either. For false starts there should be a panelty or insta-port to pits imho. Anyone who qualified themselves to do a safe and proper race should easily manage to drive in single-/double file behind a pace car for one lap/corner. If there is someone on your server who doesn't seem to manage that or wants to troll, you're doomed anyway. Arrivederci SA points.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if they can make it optional, then those that don't want it won't use it. For the record I would really like to see it as I believe it would add more realism to this sim.

However, adding a SC and making it work correctly in so many different instances is very difficult and time consuming and at the current stage of development I think there is probably more things that take priority.

In the end I hope to see a full animated pit crew and safety car but I think those things will be more likely "Icing on the cake".

This is why I don't think SC will ever happen. Not that it really bothers me.
Pit crew on the other hand was already there so I'd expect it to be back at some point, once they fix the more important stuff.

The animated pit crew has been confirmed to be coming, so that's excellent news and I'm looking forward to it.

As for the safety car - while it's certainly true that it's unnecessary to have a SC in a sim, I still think it would be a fantastic addition. Of course it should be optional and probably never used at all in public lobbies. But for off-line and organized racing, it could be amazing. Another level of immersion certainly, and one step closer to properly simulating a real race series.

Your typical race gets pretty spread out after a while. It's not uncommon for there to be 10 second gaps between drivers and, typically, that's how the race will end. Some of the less experienced backmarkers might spin out but the front-runners won't and so races become predictable.

Imagine if one of the backmarker crashes takes place but there's a safety car deployed. Suddenly you have to reduce speed and stop the over-takes. You wait to be collected by the SC. And now the field's backed up and you're nose to tail with the guy in front - the guy that only moments ago was un-catchable. And your tyres - that were nicely in the perfect operating temperature - are suddenly stone cold, and so are your brakes. Suddenly the race is on again.

Sure - this would really only work in a very disciplined environment like a league. But if ACC did this right, every league would run it. And there'd be no question that ACC was what it had always wanted to be - the most realistic sim there is. It's obviously not a top priority, there are other things to fix first, but I'd love to see SCs being seriously considered for the long term, I think it could be a game-changer.

Other things that are not "necessary" in a simulation:
    - fuel consumption
    - damage
    - tyre wear

So why do we have damage in ACC? It's not needed, it can only ruin your race. But still it's there, because the game tries to be as close as possible to the real thing.
There's no "need" for a SC in ACC, but without it the immersion factor goes down. Let people turn it off if they don't want it.

The key is that it would be best to be optional. For realism sake it would be a great option. It's ironic that while so many of us want the animated pit crew, the animation will probably have no effect on your race results. Whereas a SC coming out and bunching up the field would have a great deal to do with the remainder of your race. In any case, I trust Kunos do what's right as they have done so far. This is one GREAT sim.

    The thing is,...
    - fuel consumption
    - damage
    - tyre wear

,... realistically effect drivers race , SC does not, so no comparison.

The more features they can get into this game the better off it will be in the long term.
    It needs a safety car.

  18. Not really damage at all in this game! It's like the Crew 2 damage model go full tit into a wall car looks mint.!

My vote goes to safety car only for human control, no need for that AI thing.
With an editing opinion to remove the roof lights, of course. ;)

I also agree with the SC, certainly in addition to increasing the immersion and not a few things would change, it would be extraordinary and after all what would simply happen in reality would happen.
It could also be driven by a human, not just AI.
Hopefully, in any case I think we all have to wait for the 2019 season to come (1.1?) To see what they have done in the meantime (1.0.8 ..) because I don't think they can work on anything else.

One last thing, remember on AC there were sometimes polls by kunos about which features or cars (like for the last Ferrari in the package) .. you could repeat this .. what do I know is an idea thrown away them, don't beat me XD
