1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge #148 – Hugo’s hot wheels

Discussion in 'Console Lounge' started by Totall Wrytoff, Sep 29, 2019.

  1. Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap Challenge #148 – Hugo’s hot wheels

As we come up to the 150th Anniversary of the WHC, we are going to be celebrating the milestone with a series of challenges chosen in co-operation with those who have played a significant role in the WHC, The Legends of WHC!

Quick reminder to all, please could you include your name and format as described below when posting your times.

    The Challenge: Hotlap
    Car: Ford GT40
    Track: Mugello
    upload_2019-9-29_18-21-54.png
    upload_2019-9-29_18-22-1.png
The Ford GT40 needs no introduction. It is a legend and icon. Everyone also knows it’s Eric Broadly’s Lola Mark VI. It is also Pastmaster Hugo’s favourite car. We last used the GT40 one hundred and six WHCs ago, in a combi proposed by Hugo around Highlands Long.
At the time Hugo said “Good brakes for a vintage car, lots of power, and easy to save if you spin the wheels after a slow turn because of the mid-engine.” I’m not actually sure I agree with much of that, especially having enjoyed slicks followed by go-kart for the last two weeks. It took a fair bit of getting to know around Mugello. I think it’s a tricky car to drive - it likes confident inputs but doesn’t like being pushed around. You are quite clearly a passenger and must guide it smoothly.
Here a link to a very fascinating article, a contemporary view about the GT40 as a road car, written in 1966, by the legendary Denis “Jenks” Jenkinson for Motorsport magazine,
    https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/archive/article/december-1966/37/road-ford-gt40

Mugello, Mugello, molto bello! A good long straight, the car wanders a bit and you build good speed, but just under the bridge, you start to think about braking and “leave plenty of room” will be forefront on your mind for the rest of the lap! The nose is very responsive, provided you have slowed the car properly and allows you to carve good lines into the corners, but you have to feed the power in gently on the way out or be ready for opposite lock. I think you coax a lap time time out of this rather than try and belt it!

Fastest time on RSR is 2:02.8, we can beat that this week surely!

We’re on vintage tyres this week. Recommended pressure is 37psi front and back.

How to take part - Hot lap:
To enter, select Hotlap, choose the Ford GT40 and the Mugello circuit.
Please setup the session as shown below:
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Free
    Stability: Free
To qualify you must have the ambient temp set to 26 DegC.

    Deadline: Sunday 6th October 2019 - by 18:00 BST.
Chequered Flag will drop shortly before this time.

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like. It is all about taking part, pushing yourself and enjoying Assetto Corsa. All Platforms are welcome.
To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Please use the following format to post your times:
Improvement (Only required if you have already posted a time)
Your name (as you would like it to appear on the leaderboard)
Your time - shown as x.xx.xxx.
    Your platform (PC Xb1 PS4)
The screen shot showing your time.
(Optional but in the spirit) Your thoughts and comment

Please post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the correct format or session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

  6. Absolutely right -and it was one of mine. I was sure we had used it since 42, but it was not entered on the master spreadsheet after 121 - so that's two errors cleared up, thank-you very much for spotting!

    Nice! Noted.
What is your second favourite track @F1415182235 ?:)

Not sure. It's a tie between Nurb GP, Laguna Seca, and Zandvoort.
And Catalunya without the boring chicanes at the end.

I would like to say this was a shakedown, it's not. It's the result of quite a long sesh.

Not much time today so only a few laps to get on the board.
I can tell it’s gonna be a tough one, missed most apex and braking was way off.

    Edit:
After the comment about overshooting T1 I decided to concentrate extra hard on first approach and really thought I was braking early but still only just kept it on :D

Damn, just did 4 laps, hit a 2.04.9 after 2 laps then went in and corrected psi, then another two laps and got to 2.04.0 then clicked on restart session :(
But on the bright side that meant I had to go out for another 4 laps, fortunately got again into the 04.0's after second lap but then managed to find another bit on the next lap before invalidating lap 4.

    Edit:
Just had a quick look at RSR and we are already within 1s of the top time, if I had it running I would be 3rd but it stopped connecting recently so just turned it off. If you look down to the fastest pro time we have already beaten it lol

Used the longest set of ratios, seems better suited to the first two sectors and last corner, it felt brutally unsympathetic towards the old dear's motor and trans. Dropped the rear ARB to 1.
    Probably just a psychological benefit:D
    What is everyone else using?

Had a great time last night. I remember that car and I remember not behind a fan when we used it the last time. That's why am happy. I see the difference in my driving. Couldn't control the car properly and now I understand that beauty.
Haven't touch much of the settings but I remember 2 click up for bias and like you TW longest gear ratio for this time but the short one is not bad. As you say they both have pros and cons. Hope I'll have more time this week. Great combo
