1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

You have 12 threads on your cpu. No game can use them all. At best only half of them. So when you see 45-50% cpu usage then most probably the game has maxed out your cpu. Try to overclock it. All games benefit more from higher clocks then more cores or threads

Edit: I wish i could tell to everyone that uses his computer just for games that the best cpu out there at this moment is 9700k. It clocks at 5k and it has 8 cores/8 threads. No hyper threading, fastest ipc, less money

That's one of the problems in todays multicore cpu's that i do not know if someday will be fixed

Nice thought but my Mobo wouldn' t let me do that (A320 chipset). So until ACC gets more optimization i will not maxed out my graphics (even if my gpu is capable of it)

Try to lower visible opponents and free up some cpu occupancy. You might be able to use higher gfx settings and put your gpu at work

I have already minimized my opponents to 15 (visible 16). This one makes a great impact in game's fps. I also noticed that when i play in slight rainy conditions (with same settings) my game fluidity is better. Has anyone noticed it?

Yes. It eliminates a CPU bottleneck caused by the CPU render thread. CPU bottlenecks IMO cause stutter whereas GPU bottlenecks don't.

    Makes perfect sense.

I have a similar system - 2600х + 2070(but I have a 1440p display). I don't have a problem with 30 AI. In the rain a slight drop of FPS in the beginning. Settings are maximum + minimum trees and glass. AI visibility is 20.

    60 FPS block.

    @romandevision that's strange

I have a very sensitive eye in terms of fps. I can notice the slightest drop/stutter/fps pace problem. At the time i notice a drop, i minimize graphics/cars etc until i hit a butter smooth motion. I can drop everything to low until i find the perfect match.

I have noticed this drop in nurburgring (first corner) but i will try to replicate it for other tracks too (with higher settings/more cars) as i haven't used other tracks much.

    That's why I was surprised. :)

That's where we're alike - any fall of FPS causes me to shiver nervously :) I can't remember about post-processing - I have it either max or high - I remember that I was surprised when I didn't notice the difference in visually and in the load of the system. As well as shadows, there are no visual differences, so they can be either max or high. And about N-Ring I agree - it's a problem place. Also earlier in the 6th turn (when viewing replay) there was a stuttering, but after the patch it was fixed. In general, after the patch increased FPS. Maybe not much, but he stopped drop, and now at sunrise and sunset all became stable.

Upd: my display 1440p(60hz) + vsync on + freesync on.

I always use vsync on (never in game but in nvidia's cp). I do this for all my racing games. I lack a good free sync monitor, that's why i use vsync with nvidia.

But, the problem with this setup is that, when my fps drop below 60 i get fps stuttering. So i try to lower all my graphical settings to the extend where 1% of frametimes is ALWAYS >60 fps.

But - especially in N-Ring's first corner - i get a screen tearing - which is strange (i would assume to have fps drop). But i guess it is more of a poorly in game optimization area. I will have to test other tracks too though.

PS I never had imagined that i d have a cpu bottleneck with my processor...:(

Before the patch, the optimization was disgusting. I included N-ring, evening, rain and 27 AI and saw the FPS drop 45-50. After the patch, I didn't even look at the graphics settings - I just removed the glass and trees - they consume an inadequate many performance.

The only thing that differs in our PC is motherboard. I have MSI B450m Mortar + 8 fans in mATX case. Maybe your system is overheating? I can't find an explanation.

Ryzen is also demanding on RAM. Do you have an XMP profile enabled? What RAM-timings?

I have the stock cooler + 1 fan (back), but and as far as i checked it, my temps were ~64-65 degrees after 1 hour of play. So i do not think this is a problem.

At this time i will stay with my settings + 16 cars (in total). Keeping our fingers crossed for various future updates and improvements.

    Temperature's fine. I've got a higher temperature:)

You have not answered the XMP-profile - perhaps that's your problem - by default the BIOS will be 2333, as far as I remember.

It s ok. Will stick to my settings for now. Thanks;)

PS Maybe it is because u use a freesync monitor and you dont see any stuttering/tearing. I do not.

It's quite possible. For the test, I'll try to turn it off today.

    1) Turn freesync off
    2) Car: whatever, track= N-ring, cars=25, settings=mix of medium/high/low (don't know how much and what impact can we have playing with these settings)
    3) See what happens in first turn..

Tell us your results in terms of fps/stuttering/screen tearing

PS I played with the game settings more. What i noticed is that @Red Or Dead is right. This game is very intense in terms of cpu occupation. I thought that my cpu would be enough to play the game with full settings and full grid but if you want to play with 29 cars in track..well...no. You will need a better cpu.

I maxed out my graphics settings to high/epic with 15 opponents. The game still feels nice without stutters. But as long as i add more and more cars, stutters occur. I think 15 is the golden limit for me as we speak..

Hi, mate! I didn't have time yesterday, I'll try for the weekend.

As for the post below - yes, ACC loads the processor, as AI uses the player's physics (as far as I understand the simplified + model of tires with one point).

And again, the kernel load... As in all modern games, multithreading is not used or is used in the number of 2-4 cores. To everything the UE4 engine, which is demanding a priori.

Of course, the only way to increase productivity is to buy new Ryzen or new and expensive Intel. I wouldn't wait for a patch if I wasn't happy with the performance. Ryzen new is worth an adequate amount of money, but it is not bad by tests - there is a topic on the forum.

If i had to buy a gaming (especially for racing) cpu NOW, i would prefer a cpu with higher base clocks than cores, as multicore cpu's are not yet optimized for that. But i couldnt know that earlier
