1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

You should first provide some benchmark results in different conditions. What you say is certainly not generally true and so far, we only have some very vague reports and assumptions from you.

I'm not sure, no proper testing but it seems like it's hitting my CPU harder. Time to do some testing i think.

Seeing how small the performance gap in ACC is between a 2060 and a 2080, I'm currently selling my 2080.
From the revenue, I already ordered an RTX 2060 for my main PC and a GTX 1060 for my secondary PC I'm currently building. There will maybe still be ~50 € left out of this trade that I can spend on the ACC DLC ;-)

I just realized that I played more COD WW2 (~30 % GPU usage with max settings) than ACC at the moment and when I play ACC, it's always online and there are no "thunderstorm at night" races - it's usually quite friendly weather settings and the GPU sits at ~60 %. The system is not very economical like this.

Will run the benchmark with the new 2060 during the weekend. something between 80 and 90 FPS AVG will be just fine for me.

If your GPU is at 60% and you aren’t running VR either your settings are too low or your CPU too weak

Well this is a first ! I guess its a financial decision because while a game today may be similar in performance between 2060 and 2080 its not going to be like that tomorrow ! Just look at RDR2 performance , my 1080Ti cant even do 1440p that well where SOTTR is 1440p maxed , AC is maxed at 4k where ACC is optimised settings at 4k (85% res scale) .

It's more like the FPS variation in ACC is too high. I picked this GPU to maintain 48 FPS during the absolute worst case scenario. But I learned that in actual online racing, this scenario never occurs. So with the reasonable 74 FPS cap for my 75 Hz FreeSync Monitor, pretty high GFX settings and the conditions usually chosen by MP hosts, the GPU is just too powerful for the job.
Increasing GFX settings even further doesn't make much sense. The game looks very good as it is with my settings and the real issues of ACC (blurriness and jaggies) can't be changed, at all.

ACC is the most demanding game I play, by far. It's also currently the most demanding sim on the market. If in a couple of years time I will play something more demanding, a reasonably priced 3060 or whatever can replace my current GPU.
It's an efficiency decision and includes the economical aspect. An RTX 2060 fulfils my expectations in ACC just as well as an RTX 2080 that runs at 60 %. So having a 640 € GPU in the PC instead of a 300 € GPU is just not efficient.

Here's the result from my new 2nd PC, using an Inno3D GTX1060 6GB, no overclock.

    Average framerate : 48.7 FPS
    Minimum framerate : 32.7 FPS
    Maximum framerate : 77.5 FPS

Although this result isn't any better than the 2 other 1060s we have in the database, I recently get very good performance with many cars on track, rain and night. I remember that the changelog included an entry regarding this and it really seems to work. I set a graphics preset "balanced" for clear weather situations and then switched to rain and night, looking to adjust the preset, accordingly. But the performance was almost identical, I didn't have to change a thing.

@pankykapus this is excellent work. This secondary PC was build on a tight budget just for the occasional shooter session and office stuff. But I see that in FHD and with 6 GB, very good visuals at steady 60 are now possible. So I'll dig up the gamepad and will race a bit on this PC, as well.

    I'll update post 1, soon.

I'm attaching for you the 3 settings I have worked out, so far. They're not for my signature system but for 2nd PC:

    - CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
    - RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3000 CL16
    - GPU: Inno 3D GTX 1060 6 GB
    - Monitor: 1920*1080

You can run very high settings with this hardware until you go from "medium rain" to "heavy rain". The FPS really drop hard in that setting when cars in front kick up water on your windscreen. The worst drops you'll see when the field is still close together.
I will work out settings for "daytime medium rain" and "daytime heavy rain", too and share them here. Right now the AI seems to have some starting bug so I'll have to wait until that's fixed.

You'll have to drop the files in ***your Documents folder***\Assetto Corsa Competizione\Customs\VideoSettings

    Enjoy :)
