Kyalami With Real Racing Drivers - This Friday 20th March!!

Due to Covid-19 affecting many racing drivers, we decided to create a fourth split to include those affected.

We are looking for more real-life racing drivers, YouTubers and e-sport drivers to come and participate.

Never had a big issue with penalties in ACC, but also haven't done an online race at Kyalami.

 

He got the penalty as he was out of order in the formation lap. A good car lenght forward on the bumper of the car in front.
Staff tried to clear the penalty. Kelvin did not take the drive-though, so the Sim DSQ him.

47 out of 49 cars did not get a DT from the formation.
So it was a shame to see. Hopefully he will be back to try the Sim again.

Obviously it's good for various parties to have real drivers involved in these events however why should they receive special treatment..?

 

When you are new to ACC, the starting widget can be a bit confusing.
Not everybody is active in this forum and absorbs any little piece of information.
ACC has various small things that you just need to know, like ignition procedure or the pitlimiter deactivating in second gear. IMO the starting procedure should have been unlocked for the RLM race or other private ones, but that are things you learn by doing it.

 

I think a text highlighted in red telling you that you are going too fast is easy enough to understand?

It's simple when you know what to do and where to focus. But I know many who have gotten a drive through penalty when first time using the starting procedure, myself included .

 

It can be confusing in random lobbies using the shortened start procedure when some people disconnect and leave gaps in the grid. But in a full lap with no gaps in the grid, if you get a DT is because you are trying to get an unfair advantage.

Bad luck.. If I or anyone else that is a non real life racer received that penalty there would be no chat or pleading to have it lifted.. Rules of racing should be fair to all..

 

Marketing ?

 

Having said all I have said, I would have liked both DT penalties to be cleared, especially Van Der Linde's one, the guy was, of all the real life racers, the one who had a real chance to challenge for the top spots. Hopefully he will come back to ACC! I know he is an iRacing regular but hey, you can play both.
