1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge 174 – Easter Egg &*&

Discussion in 'Console Lounge' started by Totall Wrytoff, Apr 11, 2020.

  1. Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap Challenge 174 – Easter Egg &*&

Happy Easter to you! Joining in the fun, this week’s challenge has a hidden egg.

    Hotlap:
    Car: Audi TT RS VLN
    Track: Brands Hatch GP Circuit
    upload_2020-4-11_17-59-12.png
    upload_2020-4-11_17-59-20.png
    June 23rd!
The date Assetto Corsa Competizione comes out on consoles.
So, since we’ve just had three weeks of road cars, I thought this week we should warm up in a GT3 car. We’ve got three unused; the Huracan, 2016 Porsche 911 and the McLaren 12C. However, I tried them on a few tracks and they still don’t hold my interest. And the Porsche bobbles crazily, bouncing you off line on the way into a corner! Work your way round that Casey Stoners!
Then I noticed the Audi TT RS VLN looking unused, pumped and suddenly, comparatively exciting! I’m not sure I’ve driven this car before, but it goes well and sounds quite exciting.
So what is the Audi TT RS VLN?
The VLN series is closely associated with the 24 Hours Nürburgring, as it has similar rules (mostly), and mainly the same participants. You should know that VLN stands for Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring. Thanks to our German friends for the abbreviation!
This is a group of motorsport clubs, each of which hosts one event of a nine-race, annual series held on the Nordschleife.
Participants of VLN races range from amateurs in modified, small road legal cars to professional factory teams racing Group GT3 cars.
The TT RS VLN was originally developed by an independent, Raeder Motorsport, in 2010 with approval and support from Audi. Mechanically it is very similar to the road going TT RS using the same 2.5 litre turbocharged five cylinder engine, tweaked up to 390bhp from the standard 340. But, as you see, the car's original body panels have been replaced by a comprehensive aero package.
    According to a quote,
this makes for a very balanced, quite forgiving car for beginners, but super-fast if kept on a perfect line. Because of the aero characteristics, the key to cornering is to maintain “roll speed” rather than trail braking.”
    Like the other Audi then!
There’s something else which surprised me about this car, I only noticed when I ran wide onto the grass - I spun the wrong wheels....
    upload_2020-4-11_18-0-8.png
The TTRSVLN was developed for the Nordschliefe and so would suit a track that is twisty and hilly. For me the TT has got a touch of the touring car about about it, so I’m delighted to proposed one of the best circuits in the game for you to sling this around, Brands Hatch GP. Hope you think so too.
Around Brands in the Audi, lap time wise, you will be wanting a one minute mid-twenty something, which is a very rapid pace.
Recommended tyre pressure for all compounds of the VLN Slick is 26 psi, front and back.
You’ve found the Easter Egg! A special, second combi.
    upload_2020-4-11_18-0-58.png
There will be a WHC 174 Egg leader board for the legendary Mazda 787B at the brilliant Mugello Circuit.
Developed for Group C racing in 1990 and 1991, only five 787s were ever built. Nonetheless it won Le Mans in 1991, the first and no doubt last victory by a car not using a fossil fuel burning, reciprocating engine. The Mazda uses a tiny, naturally aspirated 2.6 litre Wankel rotary. This produces a massive 690bhp and a relatively low 448lbs/ft of torque, but the Mazda only weights 890kg! Power could be increased at the expense of economy, but the cars were restricted to 8,500rpm to save fuel. I’m sure the 787 never turned a wheel at Mugello but it feels great through the fast sweepers and the long straight means you can wind it up all the way. The 90s Slick tyres are 30 psi front, 32 rear recommended pressure for all compounds. Don’t bust a gut in the Mazda, it is to savour.

Happy Easter, looks things things are starting to improve, in the meantime enjoy the lapping.

  4. One of the greatest racers and one of the finest gentlemen on the planet has left us.

    R.I.P. Sir Stirling Moss.

What a player! What an example he set.

Sad news, but we should celebrate his brilliant life, his huge achievements and the epic memories he created for us.

If you've watched the Fangio film on Netflix, you'll know, they don't make them like that anymore.

    Taking a visit? :p

Nice combo and happy easter everyone.
I find this car difficult to drive consistent on the limit, as it bottoms out everywhere and the rear is a bit tricky to keep stable over small bumps. So the first thing I did is to set the height to 24 front and 23 at the back. I set the wings to 4 at the front and 4 at the back. Springs 160 at the front and 145? at the back, toe 1 FR and 6 at the rear and adjusted the gearing a bit.. The rest I left more or less stock at first.

Only lowered the fuel for now to get a time in.
Definitely needs some messing with the setup, especially the final gear ratio, far too long for this track.

I haven't got the patience to be good at this!

Maybe it's because it was designed to be driven by a complete Herbert.

Stock settings, reduced fuel and medium tyres.
Tried the softs to start and get the pressures right, but front left doesn't hold for a lap. Back to mediums.
Set ups won't save, so I'll be seeing how much I can improve with stock settings this week, although transmission seems tall, I only just get out of fourth!

    Q. When messing with the ride height I get a warning if I go below 60mm is this the same on all platforms?

BTW, the Porsche GT3 R is one of the more interesting GT3 cars IMO, because of the way it behaves in this game, it feels so different from everything else ;)

I do like this car - ridiculously grippy (esp. after the road car!). I think I can probably just about squeak into the 26s with a little more mucking about with setup and tweaking of lines.
Btw @Graveltrap - I forgot to test just now but in the past I've been prevented from driving when the car was below minimum height (not certain it's always the case tho).

@Graveltrap yes there is a minimum height restriction in AC. If it is in red you can't click drive.
I have a setup in a certain car where if I load it with fuel I have to raise the height a click on the front or it wont let me drive :)

Dude, how can you drive with such a low frame-rate? :p :D
(Edit: Joking aside, I use F12 to take Steam screenshots, and it doesn't capture the FPS counter. I guess you're using something else for your screenshots?)

I'm not sure what happened to the vid, its got an overlay on it and its pretty annoying, but it is what it is. I had the most epic drift entry into t1 I just had to post it anyways lol!

Setup is at the end of the vid. I downloaded it from the setup market. I should be able to best this if I can get t1 right. This car is way more fun than the audi.

Does the audi have a push to pass button like the other racing audi?
