1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

If they were not fast enough for Silver, why should be excluded from AM? I don't understand your logic here.

  2. How did qualifying for Silver even work ? I feel a lot of those that didnt qualify for it wasnt because of pace, but because they didnt have enough influence. It was invite-based iirc sooooo... Would be very unfair to tell the guys who applied that they're boned.

Some were invited and the rest did a qualifying event for the remaining spots.

Another problem with just one car make being put through on a competition like this is it's not going to make the sponsors and other teams happy if they are not featured in these events. In the real world people just wouldn't have the option of picking one car, I guess it's a problem unique to sim racing. But I think efforts should be made to make all those guys happy. If they're happy they'll promote the sim to a wider audience.

Can't think of any way they could guarantee all cars are in the mix though. Maybe make people select a car for a season of these events and they can't change it until this season of events is over, but that would require more background management.

Apologies, but I don’t even consider it as a rule of thumb, although not saying, as well, that fast hot lap drivers aren’t very good race drivers.
Just that one thing doesn’t forcefully means the other or, better yet, that a fast hot lap driver is always faster, and/or more consistent, than other drivers during a race.

Probably the most visible and self declared case, due for coming from a noticeable real race driver - David Perel - from his own words, relatively speaking to other drivers, he’s slower in qualifying than in race.

At the anonymity level, because aren’t known drivers but simple common sim racers, in the league I’m currently running, not always the faster lap, race included, is from the more consistent driver.

Particularly if aren’t short sprint races - and often league races aren’t - there are several variables that determine how fast, consistent and race focused a driver is.
From how a driver can handle tyre degradation, car balance changes (tyres and fuel level, for instance), navigates through traffic, overtake competence and even plain stamina and concentration levels, these are a few that are relevant for a good race driver.

As I wrote initially, these characteristics can be present in a fast hotlap driver as well, but being fast in a lap doesn’t necessarily means all the rest.

On a side note, I’m personally very at ease with this, because I’m neither fast nor consistent enough, so I don’t stand out in any way and, very probably, fast hotlap drivers will always be better racers than me, no matter what.:D

    Hahaha, good luck lapping ;)
Apparently Bentley recently made some investment on ACC, they made sure real drivers could participate SRO Events, they hired really fast guys for their eSport branch, they let engineers provide direct feedback to Kunos, and made using the Continental mandatory for the Silverstone hotlap competition.
You can check Bentley Motorsports twitter account after last Sunday event to notice how happy they are; so, guess what, I think investing money is what makes car manufacturers happy.

Seems fair that everyone should qualify via a single tier only. Of course if they didn’t even run a quali lap in Silver then entry in AM is not an issue. Just my opinion.

An easy way to do it is to take the 2018/19 cars and change the qualifier to say the fastest 1 or 2 guys for each manufacturer at each track moves on. So in theory you could be 12th overall but the fastest Lamborghini and get in. It would motivate the fast guys to try different cars once they reach a point that they believe they can't come out on top with a certain car.

leclerc impressed me, he makes an amazing mature impression for his age and so I don't think he practically did "rage quit". he stays with acc, just my 2 cents ;)

I don't think it was that. He was just a wildcard entry in the inaugural race, nothing else. Same as Jean-Eric Vergne will be in the Spa race.

It's incredible to see a professional driver drive ACC. I watched his first tram where he was still tinkering with his setup at Silverstone. Even though he was complaining about being slow (and he was slow compared to the others on track) he was still already faster than me, even though he was barely trying.

  17. Real life drivers who take the time to get used to sims almost always end up as fast as they should (lets give it a 0.5 to aliens who sim race non-stop). Or as slow as they should, the latters then say it's not realistic :D

I always looked up to F1 drivers as gowm men as a kid. Now I look at them and see mostly kids, but some really are mature for their age. Leclerc is one of them and very enjoyable, others not.

In his defense Steam was all effed up at the time too so people were getting randomly disconnected and stuff.

He definitely still enjoys the game, I'm sure its probably scheduling.
