1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    You plug one hole in the Dike and another 2 will spike. I only have 10 digits, maybe kunos needs to make a new widget. I've added 2 more titles, and they are both acc rivals. Ac-1 has the better game engine, the unreal code inconsistency is like bad religion.

    AC took an eternity to get to the state where it's at now. The complexity of ACC makes this a massive venture. Not realistic for a small indie team.

    I think that it’s all Kunos own engine except graphics, where UE is used.

    If ACC could be divided in 3 big areas - physics, online (including multiplayer and ratings) and graphics - and if I’m not mistaken, all that is related to the first two (physics and online) is built in house, using Stefano Castillo’s (Lord Kunos) engine, currently lead and developed by Fernando Barbarossa with Kevin Stuck looking out for the online.

    From my understanding, much of the headaches with graphics come because Kunos needed to integrate UE graphics with their own engine and the task is overwhelming.
    VR, Track IR, triple screens are examples of things very much dependent of UE, thus why took more effort to make it work.

    Stefano Casillo, in his streams about the sailing simulator development (where he’s building his own engine), briefly talked about the work and difficulties of “merging” Kunos engine with UE graphics and how the engine concept and initial choices can have repercussions as the development progresses.
    For instance, referring to the multiplayer aspect, Stefano said that one thing that he would do differently now, from discussing about it with Kevin, is how the engine is built with the premise that the car player is always present, which is good for single player but raises unexpected difficulties for multiplayer.

    I believe this video is the summary of the stream in question, but don’t remember exactly if it’s the one.


    Stefano comments, sometimes, gives insight of development challenges he had to overcome, but they can be scattered throughout his streams.

    Nevertheless, you can follow Stefano in his twitch and/or youtube channel because it’s really interesting to see how his game his progressing and how he develops his engine. I do recommend it, even if (now) not directly related to simracing (or perhaps it is, just not with cars, but boats :D)

  14. Anyway guys if the multiplayer is down, it means they are working on multiplayer. In all sro egts we watch a lot of microlag and netcode issues, if they can get rid of it...well, it's better, isn't?

    Lol. The amount of contortionism you do to defend the game is impressive.

    No, if the multiplayer is down several times a day, including stats and rating screen, I would say that means it's unstable, and in need of work to work most of the times...

    If the split 3 server is down since last week I would say that's because there are issues that need resolving, and not because they are working on it or it's Sunday...

    It sounds like they 'planned' server work during a few SRO events in that case o_O


    I remember launch day when 4000 people jumped on at once and the servers died because that level of traffic was unexpected and the infrastructure wasn't in place to support it. Now the game is close to those player levels daily (and has been for months) and the servers still can't handle it.

    It seems even the public SRO events aren't important enough to trigger Kunos to stop cheaping out on their servers, so I don't think the rolling server blackouts will stop any time soon.
