1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

GT4 will be the cure for what ails me... until I realise I'm 4 seconds off the pace again :D

Interesting point that in real life, gentleman drivers are 4 seconds off the pace. That makes me feel a bit better.

What I was pondering in my first post was why I was so much less competitive in ACC than I am in AC.

As long as the racing is clean I'm not that fussed whether I'm racing for a win (very very seldom in both ACC and AC, could probably count them on the fingers of 1 hand), or 20th.

Despite popularity among gentlemen pilots, GT3 is surely not an accessible enough class for everyone (especially if we're talking about being competitive, not just the ability to complete a lap), so definitely hopes are high that GT4 will make ACC more enjoyable for those who currently struggle with pace or just simply not being interested.

GT4 will add some new content and maybe some revised physics. If the gap will be smaller ... I don't think so. In some situations it should be even bigger. But let's see. :)

The slowest the cars, the smaller the gap will be. that's why classes like Touring cars are great for close racing, while Formula cars will leave you hotlaping on your own

You get a lot of people mouthing off about how easy it is to drive GT3 cars, to my mind all cars are easy to drive if they have a steering wheel and breaks. The difficuilty is in driving a car fast and consistantly. Sadly not many of us can do it that well (including myself) so maybe GT4 will be good for the people who are not hard enough to drive Gt3s precisly enough

“I think [Jan] Magnussen and I are the most old-school drivers in our team where we just like to drive the car like it’s supposed to be driven.
At times it’s super frustrating because we could be way off the pace and it makes absolutely no sense.
[The sim racers] then tell us all these little weird things that they do in the game to get lap time out of it.
It’s been a weird process. There’s a lot of little details where everything has to go right for everything to work.

I want to post the thoughts of Jordan Taylor, Corvette factory driver, about Sim racing, albeit not ACC but summonize the situations were people seems to struggle the most. I saw a lot of fan boys got too excited but, before calling someone noob or troll, just think that this is just a sim and everyone that struggles maybe only need some good advices to start progress. ACC is a great sim with a steep learning curve, as it should be so just be kind.

Yep, that's been my experience with "low" powered cars, hard to get the gap back down.

On the subject, I enjoy ACC, but have a love hate relationship with the 991.

Tell me about it, I'm persevering to get times down in it, just wish there was some back end feel.

Another one persevering with the 991 here. Don't think I could drive anything else now.

I'm running the 991 with the default aggressive setup, once the tires are up to temperature, I get very confident with its back.
    Unlike it's predecessor's. :D

Default aggressive setup at Misano is a killer. I would love to see someone driving fast & consistent with that.

    BIG NO !
it is driving that makes a simulator fun NOT the features.
Most of the sim people are into sim because they are tired of arcade stuff you just mentioned.

I infact feel the opposite, with so much grip is dependent on aero i expect the car to this snappy ONCE the aero efficiency is down.
as far as slow cornering i think its fine i got no problem whatsoever even without TC.(On old G27 btw)

No disrespect here BUT Seeing some of these comments about basically not being able to handle GT3 makes me think if some people just lack the ability to react, adapt and develop skills as high as good drivers.
I'm not saying that these people will always be slow but the limits of their skills might be reached even if they are 2-3 seconds behind alien or fast drivers.
This could also explain why GT4 is popular and many people are looking forward to it.

As I posted before, Jordan Taylor, factory corvette driver, recently talked about the struggles with driving in Sim racing. I'm pretty sure he has the skill to handle a GT3 car properly...

What game was he talking about? As far as I know, ACC is right now the most accessible sim for real life drivers, where they can use their knowledge and experience to drive cars fast, as opposed to other in which you need to learn the little weird things Jordan was mentioning.

I say this because I have heard real drivers saying it. Real GT3 drivers with a lot of experience in this type of cars. And no, they are not paid by Kunos
