1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

APP: ACC Engineer

Inspired by this thread, I've made an ACC Engineer tool that plays the part of a race engineer who sets up your tyre pressures and fuel load for you. You tell him what you want, go and drive several laps, and he'll tell you how to adjust your pressures and how much fuel you'll need for the race. The tool also helps you analyse the understeer and overtseer behaviour of your car.

    ACCEngineer1.5.png

    You enter:
    • your target PSI in tenths (e.g. 278 for 27.8 PSI)
    • Race length (hours and minutes)
    • How many extra laps of fuel you want to add as a buffer
Go and drive several laps, and what the race engineer does after you've driven a couple of laps is:
    • Tells you your average tyre pressures over the last lap, and how much to adjust your pressures by to attain your target.
    • Based on your fuel rate and average lap time, tells you how much fuel you'll need for the race.
    • Tells you at the end of each lap if any of your tyres are, on average, too hot or too cold.
    Understeer and oversteer
In order to use this section of the app, you need to enter your car's steer ratio, as measured in the "mechanical grip" section of the setup.

This section of the app shows how much your car is understeering or oversteering. The four displayed percentages tell you how much of the time your car is understeering or oversteering while cornering, both in slow corner and in fast corners. If any number is too high for your liking, try to adjust your driving or your setup to lower the percentage.

Each measurement (fast/slow understeer/oversteer) is now broken down into braking, coasting and accelerating phases of a corner, so you can use this information to ask the setup engineer bot in the Aris.Drives Discord channel (e.g. "setup: oversteer high speed apex") about setup changes.
For example: "Fast US: 11,4,1" means that in a fast corner, you have understeer on corner entry, a little at the apex, but then none on corner exit.

The app also produces a low tone beep when you are understeering and a higher tone beep when you are oversteering (enabled by ticking the "Sound" checkbox). This is a handy way to get audible feedback on the car's behaviour while you're driving.

    How it works
The app measures the ratio of your steered angle (at the wheels, not the steering wheel) to the car's rotational velocity. If you have massively turned your steering wheel, but the car is not rotating much, you are understeering. If you have not turned your steering wheel much but your car is turning around, you are oversteering.

    Tweaking the measurements
If you're unhappy with the results, you can adjust some settings by clicking the Settings button.

    ACC Engineer2.png

Understeer Threshold: If the steer/yaw ratio is BIGGER than this number, you're regarded as understeering. Making this number smaller makes the app think you're understeering more often. Making it bigger makes the app think you're understeering less often.

Oversteer Threshold: If the steer/yaw ratio is SMALLER than this number, you're regarded as oversteering. Making this number bigger makes the app think you're oversteering more often. Making it smaller makes the app think you're oversteering less often.

Low Speed Threshold is the speed in kph below which a corner is regarded as being slow speed.

    Setup Tips
Once you have some understeer and oversteer measurements, the Setup Tips button displays setup tips to address the two areas with the highest measurements. The setup tips come from the Setup Engineer Bot in the Aris.Drives Discord channel.

    Auto-Reset Readings
The tyre pressure and temperature, and brake temperature, readings automatically reset when you leave pit lane, and when you leave a session. If you don't want the readings to auto-reset when you leave pit lane or a session, untick the "Auto-reset readings" checkbox.

@WallyM Perhaps the Fuel required could be shown as 1 full tank plus the calculated last stint amount? And calculated pitstop on lap x. This request is just icing on the cake so please ignore if you want :)

Great App is there a a way to set different target PSI for front and rear? Since im usually driving 27,7 on the front and 28,1 on the rear.

Too many different pitstop strategies are possible, so this one you're going to have to figure out yourself :)

No, this is more about telling you what's happening as you've done a few laps in whatever the current conditions are. It's not for setup management.

I think you miss understood me :) Im not talking about the Car Setups.

Explanation of what i meant. Right now you need to Drive every time X Rounds on the Track in this Conditions to get the Infos about Fuel and PSI.

But what when you save this Infos about the Track, Car, Temps, PSI in a File so when next time you would Join a Server and get more or Less the Same Condition it will load this Data from last Session. So you have directly the Infos about Fuel Consumption and also the PIS (more or less).

Another great thing, made by user, for free... which should be implemented in game from the beginnig.
    Anyway - great job!

Sucks that despite the improved and unified modern UI we still have to rely on external applications to get the most out the sim (from telemetry to results to setup help), or at least make the experience more user friendly. But this is nicely done. Thank you @WallyM.
