1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

RTX 3080 - 4K performance - CPU/engine bottlenecking

Just did a quick test of RTX 3080 with gamepad on 4K TV in case it interests anyone. My steering wheel is far from TV, so please excuse the driving style on gamepad..

Video show CPU/game engine bottlenecking of RTX 3080 based on AI car count. Looks like I will need to wait for Ryzen 5000 launch to fully utilize the GPU with Reverb G2 once it arrives. Shame ACC still does not fully scale across all CPU cores :-/.

BTW at 1440p , the game runs at stable 120fps with 40-50% GPU utilization due to CPU bottleneck.

    10:18 - race with 1 AI [90-120fps]
    13:49 - hotstint (no AI) [90-130fps]

What graphical settings should we lower in order to reduce CPU load? After all some of them are only GPU dependent and makes no difference to run them on lower settings.

    Wrong.
Reduce the amount of AI in the race to lower CPU load.

    Thanks, interesting video.
I also find the different frametimes very informative.

    Good benchmark run.

As the Ryzen 5 2600 is not very good in single core performance and a current gen CPU (3800xt / i7 10700k) is 40% faster at that workload (discount the overclock), this looks promising for the next AMD gen and 4k or VR gaming. We'll see what AMD has to offer with the Ryzen 4000 series, they get revealed next week on 8th of October.

@sairuscz Could you do a 4k test on a public server, maybe the first lap of a race, starting in the back of the grid?
We already know that with lots of AI everything is CPU limited, but a more realistic scenario would be a full server.

Maybe your CPU is also sufficient for that, reaching 80-100 fps.

Please check my other post which compares online and AI performance. They are almost the same :/

  9. Got a 3080 Gainward too. Upgrade from a 1080ti. At 5760x1080 i gained only 10 fps. Seens like my cpu is bottleneck too. Btw, have you tried to undervolt your card yet? Im on 1950mhz@0.9v. Card runs 5 degress cooler and save 30 to 40W under loading.
