1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge 206 – American Brands

Discussion in 'Console Lounge' started by Totall Wrytoff, Dec 12, 2020.

  1. Welcome to the penultimate challenge of 2020, the Weekly Hotlap Challenge 206 - American Brands.
Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione Chevrolet challenges at Brands Hatch

    Assetto Corsa Challenge: Hotlap
    Car: Chevrolet Corvette C7R
    Track: Brands Hatch
    **AMBIENT TEMP at 10C**
    upload_2020-12-12_17-59-40.png
    upload_2020-12-12_17-59-46.png
    Thundering V8s!
First thing to note about this week’s challenge is the lovely noise of the Chevy V8. A great, fat, rumbling noise that builds as the power grows.
The maximum drive by noise limit at Brands Hatch is 92 dB….
The second thing, in the case of the ‘Vette, is that there is a huge roll cage strut arranged across the windscreen. Visibility is seriously compromised!
You’ll soon forget that though. Working this motor around Brands is absorbing. With TCS off, traction is good, the car responds well to the helm and there is plenty of power. Plenty! It feels like more than the quoted “495+” BHP. I think “Plus” could mean another 100 horses.

Brands Hatch is a circuit where you need to thread the corners together and get into a rhythm. The C7R will provide an epic soundtrack!

    Stats, Tyres and Times:
Tyres are slicks, compounds range from SuperHard to SuperSoft all at 26 psi
Fastest lap is a 1.21.997 by Vrzl
    upload_2020-12-12_18-0-4.png

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Back to back, on the same track?

**The Corvette C7R has 495+bhp and weighs 1320kg**
**The Camaro GT4R has 480bhp and weighs 1420kg**
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Assetto Corsa Competizione Challenge: Hotlap
    Car: Chevrolet Camaro GT4R
    Track: Brands Hatch
    Time: 17:00
    Weather: CLEAR

Mike’s challenge this week is a “blast at Brands!”

Quick question, it has been asked before, but always fun - how do you pronounce Camaro?

In 1966, at its launch, the US motoring press asked Chevrolet, “what is a Camaro?” They were told it was a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs.
If you enjoy this week’s challenge, you can pop a Camaro GT4R on your Christmas list. $259,000 gets you a race-ready car, featuring a 480hp dry-sump 6.2-litre V8, Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission, lots of carbon fibre, fully adjustable suspension and a wind tunnel tested aero pack. The fuel and tyres may well double the bill!

    Tyres:
    Ideal operating pressures are 26.5 (26.3- 27.2)

    ☆☆PLEASE NOTE: WHC 205 IS STILL OPEN UNTIL 18:00 (GMT+1) TOMORROW. ☆☆

After several days, my chances of improving at the green hell are minimal, so starting with the C7R (at first sight I had read CR7, what? Cristiano Ronaldo???)[IMG]

As Peggy11 has already written: it is a slow farewell to AC.
Through the updates, ACC has become better and better. 1.6 has taken another (for me big) step towards driving fun. :)

Here in AC the Corvette is for e.g. also really great at the beginning - then the sound, which is not as varied, and above all the much less communicative FFB is annoying.
In the last few weeks I have started AC from time to time and, after the first happy minutes, put it aside in disappointment.

Last two weeks: ACC vs AC 25h vs 2.5h o_O

Well, that's the way things go.

Now I'm looking forward to the Camaro - the beast that eats the curbs.

It took me ages to get a complete decent lap, this car seems very understeery to me! Possibly the big hunk of engine sitting up front?

@Totall Wrytoff - Is it possible to participate in ACC in practice mode? It is not an advantage compared to Hotlap, is it? Or am I missing something?

Edit: Sorry, could be an advantage, cause optimal tyre pressures are possible.

    Hmm....

I lost a bit in the last sector - laptime below 1:21 is possible with some effort and tuning.

  17. It's not obvious where you lost the time in the last sector, looks typically smooth and controlled!:)

Managed to eliminate most of the brake locking but struggling through the corners. Not sure if it might be due to the car being left hand drive, although I've never noticed it being a problem in the past. I reduced the steering angle but still not perfect.

brake locking sounds wrong to me. what abs and brake bias do you use? with 2 and 55.6% i have no locking. with all these electronics wizardry the actual gt3/gt4s should NOT struggle with brake locking with the correct settings.

Rather than end my AC hotlap participation on a Nordschleife no show I thought I'd end it on a Brands Hatch slow show.

A sedate lap in the winter dusk to wrap things up :)
