1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Setup Guide for Beginners

  1. The discussion is also ridiculous because it arises from the fact that you have not even been able to correctly underline what I have written. In fact, you avoided underlining what I wrote in brackets (up a maximum of 31 psi) just to accentuate the negligible differences between two data and create a controversy.
That's all for me, I don't have time to waste with you.

    Serious?

I don´t even see the issue in the brackets, it´s in front of the brackets....

  3. so why did your friend underline the sentence differently? Are you his lawyer? If we then march in mathematical terms, the second pressure interval (29 -31 psi) incorporates the first (30 -31 psi).

    just my personal thoughts:
It wasn't the first time you wrote about "university", "professor", "studies" , etc... This is not a masters exam work you have done. This is not for professors or specialists of a specific scientific topic. This is for users, especially beginners, which seek help by having the most simple and straight on explanation for how to have the car behaving in a way they can handle or like it.

Those users get confused when having the same scenario and two different explanations (pressure windows).
It is no help for them leaving the explanations as is, when is it confusing. It's not about correct citing, it's about being helpful.

I get you don't want to alter the original text, that's why I suggested to add a cite note or a link to those explanations which then brings them to the explanation by pankykapus adding an information why those numbers can differ for the same scenario.

I stand by my suggestion: be helpful to those beginners and correct/add the new information or delete it alltogether. Because in the state it is now, it is no help for beginners, but rather confusing.

  6. Now I tell you my thought:
you start from the wrong assumption that the beginner is obtuse and that he gets confused for so little. Let's even say that someone gets confused, it won't be the end of the world. Don't take yourself too seriously (Don't be a beginner's tutor), this is a great, great, video game, for me the best simulator ever but it's still just a game. For example, it doesn't seem to me that you have ever had any doubts that driving (both Skaven Zverov and mine) is exclusively about GT3 cars. In fact, no one has ever asked for explanations in this regard. Therefore change your initial wrong assumption that the beginner cannot understand. Then, as you may have read earlier, there was an instrumental attempt to amplify the differences in pressure windows. Why don't you say anything on this subject?
Finally, I don't think you read what pankykapus wrote: In the wet or on a changing track your net stint pace will hardly be affected by being 0.5-1.0psi off, it's a lot more about managing temps, not overdriving, cooling the tires and not spinning or crashing. Whether it's 29 to 30 or 30 to 31 is missing the point.
For me that's all and the talk ends here.

I can't understand why this forum always attract people who can't do anything positive, just criticizing. All the driver I drove with in leagues are always friendly and helpful and this forum there is always this small (I'm pretty sure it's less than 10 ppl) and loud minority who is never happy about anything. Someone did a guide, you can help improve it but if you're not happy that's about it, move on.

Hi guys, sorry for not being active for some time. I will work on v2.0 and publish it soon :)

It will have both GT3 and GT4 info, as wet info too. Thanks for updating me :)

If you check the dates, you would see GT4's didn't exist then. So...yeah.

I am making 2.0 with both GT3 and GT4's included, and additional info.

Also, please stop arguing. I don't want this thread to be locked because of people fighting. I didn't ever read most of it, don't have time for drama.

I said in my OP that this guide is here to help the people, and everything people said it was incorrect, and was factually checked, was changed. Guide will be updated for new changes, as GT4 cars, wet pressures, etc.
This is collection of data from YT videos, other people who knows much better than me, and again, is subject to change, since i am learning more, and more info is coming in.

It would be nice to continue with civil tone, and continue building this Guide. I hope some of the ACC people will have the heart to help :) I may also make better design, don't have time for that at the moment.

When I started simracing your guide was one of the first things I downloaded. And I know other simracers who also rely on it. It’s very useful. Thank you for the effort you put into it.

  15. A very important part, regarding setup adjustments, is the study of the features of the circuit you are gonna race at. It would be cool to add suggestions in that sense (low wing track, hard suspension track).
These infos are crucial to get the right path while changing the setup.

    Hi @Skaven Zverov,

Just a candid question, and it doesnt seem it was adressed before (or i completely missed it...)

where does the statement about having rebound setting higher than bump comes from? i've seen many of the default safe or aggressive setups with rebound setting lower than bump, and the histograms were quite nice. Also, Like Aris said in his video about dampers, each click either on bump or rebound has its own unique curve, so could it be that sometimes, lower rebound value than bump, makes it work? or shal we ALWAYS aim for higher rebound Value than bump?

It has been adressed before. Basically, this is a general rule for dampers, that bump forces should be lower than rebound forces. This allows the wheel to move upwards more freely when hitting a bump and the higher damping forces on rebound ensure a quick elimination of the resulting oscillation.
But I don't think this translates well into the setup for ACC, here's what I've written before:

Sorry, I indeed scrolled over your post (shame on me...).

So if I understand correctly, and just like I thought, there is no clear rule as how to set rebound value in regard to bump... we just need to spend time working click by click to get nice histograms.

    Thanks mate

No problem, mate. Happens easily in such long threads.

You are correct. There is no real rule what to do with the settings. So histograms are your best bet.
