1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Potentially stupid question(s)

Brand new to AC (Not ACC) and am knocking the rust off my driving after a 20+ year hiatus and am looking at adding some tracks I really enjoyed back then; Road Atlanta, Mosport, etc... I understand how to DL and "install" mods, but have some that aren't being recognized or are partially recognized and don't work.

Are mods for AC and ACC "compatible"? I.e. will a mod for ACC work in AC and vice versa? If not, how does one tell which mod is for which 'sim'?

    Specific example:

I DL'd a 2011 Infiniti G37 last night (My son has one so thought it'd be cool to show him) and extracted it to ./Program Files(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/assettocorsa/content/cars. There are no "nested" folders so the folder structure looks very similar to the cars that came with AC.

When I go to choose a car, I get a weird icon (Even though there's a valid logo.png file in the car's folder) and the label at the bottom of the screen says "Unknown". There's a Changelog file with the archive and it says at the top, "Infiniti IPL G Coupe G37 updated by Assettoland for AC v1.9" Would I be safe in assuming "v1.9" is an ACC version as my installation of AC says v1.16.x?

ACC is not modable, so the car is for AC.

The folder structure should be similar to the one of all the default cars, as example the Infinity logo would be under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars\infinity_g37\ui\badge.png
Maybe try to redownload and unpack it again.

It all seems to be correct as far as folder structure, files etc. badge.png is in the ui folder and I'm not seeing any syntax errors in the .json file. I have no idea how to validate the .kn5 files. I found what I thought was a different G37 package from the same site (Assettoland) but it appears to be the exact same archive. I've pulled a couple more cars from Assettoland and they work fine (I've been flogging the '70 Pontiac Trans Am all afternoon - I had a '71 when I was a kid )

    See attached pics.

It does, I just downloaded and installed the Infiniti IPL G Coupe G37 2011 updated by Mike and it all works as intended.
I suggest you just re download and install and it should all be fine.

Looks like a launcher issue. Does not work with the stock launcher, but does with Content Manager. Interestingly, the wheels on this car look almost identical to the wheels on my son's car
