1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

You disqualify yourself from this discussion by making up things. Never have I said that the pro drivers didn't deserve something or that this is about my mates or me. You keep having an overly aggressive attitude here for no apparant reason, or did I somehow attack you personally with what I said?
My point in general is that there are a bunch of other people who imo also deserve a shot at such an event. Why is that so offensive to you?

Probably because your postings contain assumptions like these, among other things you said.
The championship rules are that simple: Be the fastest, get a spot to race.

It's still only down to netcode. ACC doesn't use the level of scripting that would make it possible (imagine physical cars being pulled along with a string).
Each method has its advantages and disadvantages, heavy scripting looks really good from the outside but can cause phantom collisions metres away from the visual car when the car prediction is off. Just calculate how much inaccuracy 50-100-150-250ms of delay can cause at 150-250kph if the prediction is a miss.

I think you know very well, that there are a good bunch of people between "PRO" and "man of the street" aka "potato". If I recall correctly you yourself are exatcly that kind of driver --> Not alien, but with a very good situational awareness and pace....or would you consider yourself a "potato"?
I don't recall having suggested anything specifically, but no I wouldn't exclude the PROs but give the guys that are just "beneath" them a chance to participate in an additional SRO official event, maybe a kind of AM class event.

I don't get why everyone is so upset if someone suggests to give more people a chance on this platform

Actually in this sense, yeah, I would, I lack the talent and dedication to get in there, even if I have the occasional what you'd call decent race pace and racecraft.

I understand what your point is, but I don't agree with your "pro" categorisation and consequential proposal of exclusion. Some of these guys might be regulars, but at least half of them are team-independent drivers who just happen to be really fast and prepared for this specific series.

When we're done with this, can anyone get me game for Man Utd on Saturday? I'm not a bad footballer, had a bit of talent in the day but couldn't put in the time to make it as a pro, but I'm pretty sure most people are bored of watching Rashford, Martial and Pogba every week and it would be much fairer to let us lessor footballers turn out for a Premier League team now and then.....thank you

Considering the suggestion of an additional AM even: Yes, let them PROs have their PRO event, it's totally cool, I'm not saying anything against it, but if there was a PRO and an AM category, why would they have to participate in both? Let the hypothetical AM category to aspiring drivers aka the drivers I've been talking about.

I don't wanna let get things out of hand tho, I just liked the idea of having some more people being able to participate.

And then when we're done with this, let's go to any forums we are registered in and drop passive aggressive comments with very poorly picked analogies to make a discussion less constructive, shall we? :)

I get your point but I'd argue that it's a good analogy :)

Yes you did - by insinuating their achievements only being possible through not being burdened by other responsibilities than driving ACC and being handed "the right type of hardware", an excuse so transparent it would be shattered just by watching half of them literally stripping their private life online. If you think my responses were overly aggressive, you're in for a rude awakening once you finish school... "Other people" had their shot - and they failed, pure and simple. They continue to have a shot though, a concept you don't seem to grasp. If "they" are truly on the cusp of being good enough, simple chance would dictacte they make it in at least once. If they do not, no amount of moaning from you will change the fact that they are NOT fast enough. Several members have now tried to make you aware how backwards your demands for handouts for "other people" are, all of which you brushed aside because you and only you have the full truth. Instead of wondering why every car goes the opposite direction, maybe you should wonder if you've taken the wrong onramp?

This is a huge pile of ignorance right there. You seem to be the type of person who only understands black and white and only sees what he likes to see and makes accusations towards people that are simply not true, so it's useless to repeat myself in order to explain to you what I was talking about and what the point was, so I'll just cut it.
Yea dude, you behave in an aggressive manner, which is completly unneccessary. ":mad:"

To prevent going any more OT, my inbox awaits your message if you have anything left to say about me and my outragous suggestion to enable more people to participate in official SRO events (how dare I ).

I'm glad you finally recognize insisting that other people than those who qualified under the few simple rules set by British GT are more deserving to take part, is futile. It took a full five posts of you trying to explain to us how advantaged those who actually qualified are and declaring everyone else wrong until you made the suggestion "just make another one". I presume you also expect the RL drivers to donate more of their time so everyone can get some sort of a participation medal? If they don't, what makes your second series any different from a myriad of other leagues you could already join and who are actually happy to get more participants?

I'm confident you couldn't form another (or just a better) argument in private, otherwise you would have already done so - what purpose would a DM serve then? I'm quite content to have my words stand in public.

  13. Did I miss something and this is the only opportunity to race in a British GT league and that all other British GT ACC leagues were canceled to make room for this one?

If that's not the case, maybe people who don't qualify time-wise into this particular league could join one they do qualify into? Why is that not a perfectly good solution?

  14. I would garantee 10 slots for the first 10 people in the final standings...
