1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

RE the white detail being destroyed,

colourcurves.ini [SUN] HIGH, set last value (intensity) to 3.0.

this causes clouds to go a bit grey so set CUTOFF=0.4 in weather.ini

seems decent solution without going crazy tweaking every single parameter

now white m3 at 13:00 looks good at last

I was trying the same, lowered sun hight to 3.6 and go up with low to 4.5...seems goos to me with fixed exposure...check my dropbox files (leaved some hot simulating burning at 13.00, when I see the results I feel little warmed myself...love the summer ehehhe )

i think you should disable the levels function in your sweetfx profile if you still have it enabled.

too many different PPs to compare, easier to just compare 2 at a time. would bin the 03 one though

disclaimer: purpose of this post is to get white details at 13:00 without massively underexposing the rest of the picture.

    Everything default except the following:

colourcurves: all colours default, just intensity value reduced slightly for sun HIGH to allow white detail to not be destroyed at midday

    and

CUTOFF=0.5 in weather.ini to keep clouds looking good after the light intensity reduction

PP is the deafult (ppeffects.ini) with small tweaks, autoexp set for driving rather than screenshots, as you get the exposure adjustment in photo mode anyway so pointless to set it up for that, small range so dont see transitions but allows for time of day change.

think im happy now, no sweetfx, dont feel its needed, AC is already very sharp and didnt find much use for the functions available

having the reduced light intensity means when you go to take screenshots of white car at 13:00, you can set the exposure so the details of the car are preserved but still get blue sky without it being too underexposed

Custom PP, default lighting vs custom lighting

default lighting my PP.jpg custom lighting my PP.jpg

default PP, default lighting vs custom lighting
default lighting default PP.jpg custom lighting default PP.jpg

all of the 1st 4 images are set with identical exposure offset setting in photomode (the exposure in the PP set is configured for driving)

my PP, default lighting but with exposure set in photo mode to get white details:
default lighting my PP with underexposure required to get detail.jpg

as you can see from the last photo, you have to underexpose a lot to get the white details with the default weather, whereas with a small reduction in sunlight intensity you can still have a nice exposed sky as you would see with your eyes (2nd pic)

funny is that left is function 1 and right function -1

left is underexposed though, cant just change tonemapping function on its own, need to adjust other params to get similar exposure (or compensate in photo app). function 1 seems best for getting a nice sky which is why i find it is best for cockpit view, im less interested in external view for screenshots personally :)

ears was right, function 1 is better for onboard cam, but suffer for overxposition of high lights
