1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Why are 90% or mp races spa and gt2 or gt3 cars?

I think GT3/2 is so popular, because they’re kind of accessible and with all aids on easy to drive.
But I guess they’re also this popular because you have the variety of cars: Bimmer, Merc, Macca (and it will increase), all in one class.
People love racing in a racing series.

That’s what you can see now, since the RUF is there: you see populated servers with F40 vs RUF, two cars which are not easy to handle.
However, you have a competition, and I’d say that is what attracts people.

I'd also love to see more servers with let’s say the great Zakspeed Escort or the BTCC Nissan, but at the moment this will probably not
happen, since these cars are alone and have no competitor to race with. Once they have one or more participation will increase.

It is simple supply and demand. KS aren't choosing what to run, it is the voice of the people who buy the game. It was just the same 15 years ago in GPL (which certainly weren't high downforce super stable cars to drive!) where 6 lap races at Monza were the most populated open server races.

Personally I think it is a good thing that the open server races naturally focus on very limited content, it stops the horrible defragmented mess with a zillion servers with a couple of drivers on each server driving their favourite mod of a mod.

The less popular content naturally suits for leagues. Of course if someone wants to host an open server and actively market a particular series and make it compelling then great but if people just throw servers up with every possible combination of cars and tracks prepare for it to be a ghost town.

I do think if we had more cars of the same class then other series would be more popular.

I'd like to see a bit of direction from Kunos with them actively providing friends for cars like the Lotus 49, 98T, Ferrari 312b and upcoming Alfa GTA.

In the future it'll be interesting to see how popular LMPs are.

Why are 90% or mp races spa and gt2 or gt3 cars?

    1. Spa is a great track I think most will agree. I've done a few hundred laps around it online and I'm not bored of it... yet.
    2. Spa gives few opportunities to cheat/cut or gain an unfair advantage. Until Kunos provides proper penalties, most other tracks will remain less popular.
    3. No ability to rotate tracks. If a server is stuck on one track, there's not much else we (admins) can do.
    4. People will go where people are. No-one wants to race by themselves.
    5. GT cars are easy to drive door to door, and lets be honest we go online to drive door to door otherwise we would hotlap offline, or worst race against AI

There's more to populating a server than just having GT @ Spa. The majority of public server users are quite particular when it comes to aids, damage, penalties, grip levels and even time of day (no I'm not joking). From an admin POV we would rather see our servers full than empty so we host what people want.
    Example:
    Server 1 = GT2 @ Spa with 21/24 players
    Server 2 = Mixed BMW's @ Nurburgring with 3/24 players
Which one will you join? Of course you're probably going to say server 2 otherwise you wouldn't be reading this thread, but the majority of people will join server 1. I watch who's coming and going on our servers every day and this is always the case.
Just to put things into perspective, ALOOG hosts 7 public servers. Spa (GT2), drift and Nords (various track day cars) are by far the most popular. F40 & RUF @ Spa was popular for a while but it's fallen away now. The others might catch one or two passing by but rarely have more than 6 or 7 at any time and usually they disappear after one race. I'm quite sure if we hosted 7 GT2/Spa servers they'd all be full, but then of course we'd get complaints that there isn't enough variety.

So in summary to answer your question, supply and demand = supply and demand = supply and.... you get the picture ;)

I need to make this question: Do you calibrate the pedals? After you connect the wheel and start the game, going to controls page you'll see the pedals axis partially loaded, so there you need to press all your 3 pedals before launching the actual game, the first time, in case you disconnect the wheel between gaming sessions or between pc restarts (shutdown).

iRacing GT class is full grid 30 participant all time every two hours. Compare to my favorite car Lotus type 49 max 12 paticipant only 2-3 time race each week . If I want to race Lotus type49 I must race in sleep time !!!

This is the same as AC . I remembered that I raced in Lotus type 49 in first week of Multiplayer released with the good racer very surprise and very glad (10 participant) . After first week AC become iRacing zero paticipant in type49 same as iRacing.

I’m a Lotus79 regular in Iracing and compared to GT3 that’s a wasteland, too. Come and join the 79 community, I think it’s a bit more populated than the 49ers. ;)

Like I say, it's an "x" quantity I can't place my finger on.
Play lots of other sims without issue. Love AC, just "something" about the braking and the way cars lockup and stay locked up puts me off wanting to race other classes.
    Useless I know.

Got the same feeling after 1.0 with a pad. Maybe the behavior of the triggers got changed.

  12. The most fun times in AC public servers I have with street car track days on the Nordschleife. When I find someone with comparable car and skill it is great fun. Also I feel like street cars atract less wreckers, they are all looking for GT races as it seems.
Please server guys, give us moar street car action on different tracks, please!

I spent half of my time with trackdays, while I do it more on Lake Louis, cause its new and its a pretty cool layout. :) Especially with the Ruf and F40 quite thrilling.
On the other hand I always hope, that one of the Nords-servers will host races, they are almost always set for practice. Hope that will change with the Kunos-version.

    Not sure.
Had a quick play to see if I'm going nuts. And to me it seems like there's no middle ground with braking, it's either smooth slowdown or fully locked up wheels, and once locked up there is no response at all from the steering.

Other sims it's easier to threshold brake, you can tell where the brakes are going to lock up, and before there there is "play" between locking up and not, a gray area of "almost" locking up that seems completely absent in AC, and if you do cross that line you still have some control and can ease off far more easily and control your braking, whereas AC seems like you lock up and are a passenger until you completely release the brakes, there's zero control under lockup and no "almost" locking up range.

It's the same as AC though, cars on their own with no context. No other contemporary cars or tracks (OK, Monza 66...) hardly attractive is it

With the tire changes in 1.0 the cars have less grip especially when braking and accelerating.

Could be the reason. Anyway, without ABS it was always hard to dose the breaking in AC. Maybe there are values in the ini's that could be changed to use the range of the triggers more effectively.
Im no good racer, but some quite skilled paddrivers mentioned, that its hard to avoid locked brakes with the pad without ABS.
So I consider room for improvement.

  18. Spa may be a great track, but it's daft to stick to that exclusively. I am betting that plenty of people who enjoy racing the GT2 and GT3 cars would just as quickly join races @ Silverstone, Nurburgring, Vallelunga, Monza and Imola (and hopefully more to come in the near future). God help us when Kunos release the Nordschleife

At least 3 other topics covering the subject in the past year. New addition being Spa and the Ruf which might be popular for a while, at least until DLC is released. In 2 months time a new thread will pop up chanting we want more than just F40 vs Ruf on Nords or gt3 on Nords. It's sad really. The fine car roster in AC goes to waste. So do the mod tracks and cars (quality ones). Snoopys track is the only one that you can find in the MP screen on any given day. other mod tracks rarely show up.

Kunos is not to blame here, can't believe someone came out to say that. They offered a platform and tools, it is us who have to put these to good use and not just get the same "high".
Running fields with different gt3 cars is okish for the replays and knowing you drive a different car than your grid neighbour but at the end of the day I still don't think they are properly matched within the class for pickup racing. It's much better if you play you play a series in a league. Then the advantages and disadvantages of different cars are brought to light as the series progresses. As it is, for pickup racing I am not a great fan of running different gt3 cars in a race as some are just outmatched.
That is a different topic though. And don't worry, those posting here are not the majority, expect the same gt2/gt3 comp grids in the future but with less spa and more official nords.

The thing with pick up racing is the variability of driver performance. Some quicker drivers will opt to drive the slower cars in the class just for the fun of it. Like guys used to drive Coopers, Hondas and even the odd BRM in GPL back in the day!
